Property & Copyright

You know Haruki Murakami? I found he's got lots of fans overseas. Many years ago He was submitting all his works in manuscript. Submitted to mainly editors. And recently he found his manuscripts have been sold in secondhand bookstores in Jimbo cho ( where many second hand books are available ) in central Tokyo. Some of them less than 100 sheets are sold by $10,000.
He was upset about this in a magazine.
I find it ridiculous. He can claim copyright on his writings, but he can't claim ownership over other's property. He lost his property on his manuscripts when he submitted his manuscripts. He had to know copyright is a right to copy, there's no copyright over his manuscript -original text. It's not a copy.
