Reading many Slashdotter's journals, now I gradually believe it's merely a joke. April Fool joke. You see it's a tradition in Western nations, but certainly not here one of East Asian countries. As if I were caught by a ghost, but if it's just a temporary, of course I can endure -I think.

Its related to the pre-Christian calendar and pagan celebrations of the spring equinox. Unfortunately, being a tradition approaching two thousand years old, the exact origin is lost.Also unfortunate is that America is not one of the countries that observes the tradition of only committing pranks before midday, so the colour scheme will stay this way until the 2nd arrives on their shores. But yes, it is only temporary.I have my own tradition regarding April Fool's day jokes: I can be a good sport about people's jokes if they can be a good sport about being punched in the face. Some day I'll have to invent a device that allows this over the internet; the closest I've come so far is a web page that asks them to look really closely at their CD/DVD drive, then issues an "open tray" command after a short delay.
--The difficulties nerds have with the world stem from the fact that not all problems can be solved by nerdery.

Around this time of the year is a turning point from long winter to short spring. People here get together under the cherry tree day and night, drinking, eating, singing, dancing, sometimes taking off their cloth people enjoy having fun. April Fool is also based upon such a jocular one.
After this season passed, again people start pursuing serious business. April Fool and Cherry Blossom Viewing, both work as an oasis in our life.

One of the oddest days on slashdot in the whole year. One can't take seriously anything at all. OMG!!! Ponies!!!! I need to run now I saw some furry equi caballi.
