Hi, ***..

Last night we had a talk on line about philosophy. On my birthday I hadn't expected to have such a good time with you. I had noticed that it was the biggest present from you.

Sincerely,

Hi, Hiro

Thanks! I wanted to read your discourse.

It is somehow hard to get back in Fukuoka frequently. I need to take a rest for one day -Sunday since I'm working for full six days.

I don't think this life lasts for good. I've got many plans for future to come.

I will send you my comment soon after I read.

As to Bible study book, I want to stop continuing for a while. I want to keep on doing Bible study by sending my question and receiving your reply as we used to do for the first time.

Best wishes, and best regards to your brother and his wife!

The problem we have had in a train is we have no enough seat for all the passengers. So we think it's worthy using this product when we are very sleepy yet no seats available.

Yeah, I turned 47 last night. It was rainy as it's the midst of rainy season in East Asia though, we went out eating. We chose to eat Chinese dishes in a cafeteria-style restaurant. I dislike to eat in almost all restaurant, since I feel disgusting in passive smoking, but there was Ok. She had an eggplant special and I had rice noodles.

After the eating, it stopped raining temporarily we went to the movie theatre. We chose to watch 'Maria Callas -the last love' Both we are at middle ages-48, 47. We both had numerous affairs with others in the past, we were able to have some sympathy with heroine Maria.

I started having relations at age 31 or 2. It's very late. I had been with someone throughout my thirties, but I had been by myself for four or five years after I separated from my former girlfriend in 2000, I was just before 40.

Although I had a couple of affairs after that, basically I was alone. So all the more I am happy for I started living with a woman 5 months ago. She is a common-law wife. I still find very hard to get married to her legally.

It was heavily raining after we came out from the theatre at 10:45. We got home after we took the semi-last train at 11:11. She was complaining about her shoes being wet, but that was her proposal for us to go out.

Hello, ***..

Since the name of Japanese is written in ideograms, we are sometimes not so particular about how to read the characters. I read Taisetsu instead of Daisetsu in the first name of Suzuki though, they are the same figure.

The philosophy of Hiromatsu is similar to that of Althusser. Althusser...it was difficult to guess how to spell.

So I raised three figures in total.

It was intersting you found Kojin Karatani's work On Kant and Marx with reference to Hiromatsu. Karatani is a literal critic, so it might be much easier to understand than reading the work of Hiramatsu itself..

(5)>Wake up from relativity

This is not difficult to understand. She wants to separate from her and her late boyfriend relation by saying 'wake up from relativity'

>Step up to thorough earnest tomorrow
Imagine now that has been emerging is global
I'm feeling you away.

>Loser made up of eternity

This is also euphemism of he has already gone for good. There's no chance to see him because he was dead.

>Lover that seems not to stay only at present

This is a circumlocution way of saying 'he is not at present'.

>Stage that lasts endless breaks down
I'm gonna find another way

(6)I let it go
I feel secured
Time is just as same
In my dream you call my name
joke it like it you use to babe
Soaked in lies

>Sin is never wiped away never finished
It's so heavy

She blames his light-headed behaviour. But for her it was very heavy.

(7')Other way from Life Line then
I get away from sorrowful dream too
Though I want to marry you whenever you show me the last smile in front of my eyes
Your style which seems only you are hesitating or in trouble
Oh naive far-sighted loser

Slight chage in lyrics. Playful to naive, etc.

(4')>Go away I miss you
if I still want to weep anyway
Though I am eager to go on a trip someday you show the last smile in that world.
Swinging memory go away

Setting memory has already fading away to the degree it seemd statrted swinging inside her mind. It describes how her memory was being ambiguous.

(8)>I wish if we could see the light of heaven
I don't know the color of sea, but there's no reason

>I wish if we could be in the light of heaven

His dismisal from this world is decisive in this pasage. She even wants to be in the light of heaven though it was impossible.

don't go away...
don't go away...

I think she was unable to deal with herslf in his abrupt death. She was able to get out of this deadlock by sharing this feeling with other people who listend to her song. As a result she overcame this spiritual crisis and became a great singer.

I finished this series, enjoy listening to her song again.

(3)>Other way from Fate Line then
Get away from sorroful wind

The Fate Line is a result of his dying already. She wanted to try thinking about the other possiblity of his alive. She wanted to get away from her sorror directly facing his death. This passage is based on such a hypothesis.

>You show last smile in front of me
whenever I want to be childish.

But actually he was not there. He presented himself only in front of her in her image. She wanted to rely on him whenever she was to be childish.

>Your style is as you only keep on looking aside.
Oh playful far-sighted loser

As opposed to her positive attitude for everything, he was rather a quite negative man. His attitude was always look-aside beside her. He didn't decide on anything, only he just decided to get away from this world. She said he was a loser who only saw this world playfully, far-sightedly. He didn't see this world as serious as she did.

(4)>Though I want to see you, but go away.
If I still want to weep, anyway

She woke up from her fantasy. She has to admit he was alreay gone. He is not here though she wants to see him and she wants to weep beside him.

>Even though I am eager to go on a trip, you show the last smile in that world.
Setting memory go away.

'Go on a trip' is euphemism for 'die' in Japanese , and 'that world' means the world crossed over the Styx in any language. This passage shows how her feeling swings. She found she was unable to do anything without him, although she had half a mind to go on a trip she found no one but herself. She noticed he was showing his last smile not here in this world beside her but there in that world. This passage shows how desperate her feeling is. She thinks she has to say good by to memories already fading away.

Hi, ***...

Aside from my personal preference, many people admit first authentic Japanese philosopher is Kitaro Nishida, who wrote ' The Study of Goodness'. He learned in Tokyo and later taught in Kyoto. I hadn't read his masterpiece and largely I forgot what his idea was but as far as I could read in ethics textbook, he emphasises the importance of intuition rather than the analytical method to reach the truth.

Taisetsu Suzuki is even more famous overseas than domestically. He is Buddhism philosopher. Buddhism philosophy is very different from Western thought such as Greek philosophy, Christianity, Enlightenment thought. I think the core of Buddhism lies in how to reach the Emptiness through practice like meditation.

As to modern philosopher, I pick out Wataru Hiromatsu, his main writing is ' common subjective being structure of the world ' written only in Japanese, I think.

That's it what I recommend.

Talk to you soon..

No cities from America, and Britain. I think this is a modest attitude often seen in Britain -American.
If I were a judge, I would place 1-San Francisco, 2-Vancouver, 3-Seattle, 4-Portland, 5-Baltimore, 6-Paris, 7-Sydney, 8-Munchen, 9-Milano, 10-Fukuoka, ...17-Tokyo, 20-Kyoto.

Last smile - my interpretation -- part 1

(1)>Now the pleasure we can hug one another was gone.
I understand love is over between her and her boyfriend judging from this passage.
>I never look back again.
This is her conviction.
>In my heart, in my arms my sadness is to melt away with you.
This passage expresses her emotional confusion. She doesn't know what to do in this abrupt separation.
>Although I can see you in my dream, though I weep alone. You change your wayNo echo, No reach
She is eager to see him in the face of this separation, even if she wants to she can't because he was gone forever. Not just he went away to another girl, but he was gone forever to another world. She can see him only in her night dream. She doesn't have to wait for an arrival in her dream of he were alive.
>Tango style that I dance in ambiguous hands
This passage also indicates she is dancing with no one by performing empty hands. It takes to two to tango, ambiguous, because she doesn't have her boyfriend to tango with.
>If I were you...Noon everything starts melting down.Monday that can't be a picture.
All three passages indicate she is in a rather confusion. Her state of mind is very confused.
(2)>I wish if I could see the light of heaven.I don't know the colour of sea, but there's no reason.
This passage is repeated several times throughout the song. I wish if I could see the light of heaven. Because she wants to see the light of heaven, 'heaven' where he has already belonged to. She can't see the light of heaven while she is alive. I don't know the colour of sea, but there's no reason. This passage is difficult to understand. She believes the colour of sea must be similar to the light of heaven. She has no idea why she thinks so. Her state of mind is very dangerous to the degree she feels nostalgic to the sea. She was about to proceed to the sea while she was in the beach to see the colour of sea to know the light of heaven.

How about teaching English in Japan?

Always all class is held in English only.

You'd better much more be aware of how you use a standard English like 'Did you go to America' instead of saying 'Did you "went" to America?

Or you ought to pronouce 'visit' like vi-zit, not vi-sit. Bro-th in the, that -er, not bro-th in thin, thick -er. You have no problem If you can succeessfully correct Philipian particular way of speaking in Filipina English.

I think it's better for you to come to Japan first.

It's enough to use a rope in her trunk if someone only wants to rob her of her freedom. But how about the role of rope passed through her crotch. That doesn't rob her of anything. Instead that gives her a pleasure. So a woman caught like this both losing her freedom and obtaining a pleasure at the same time. Women are very excited under such circumstances. I didn't know anything about 'Love Psychedelico' but I had known this group through this monsterous song 'Last smile'. By the way I abruptly recalled this song through my personal experience these days. Actually I heard it for the first time in many years ago.

It is even hard for ordinary Japanese to understand the meaning of lyrics. Many people didn't notice but last here means really the last moment of someone's life. Her lover passed away only leaving the last smile. She didn't know what to do after this bolt out of the blue event. I dare not to mention what was the cause of his death.

'Go on a trip' 'that world' are a euphemism for death. Her fluctuating emotion sheds light on the entire tone in this song, that made it one of the most popular songs.

Her unreliable lover was gone for good and as a matter of course, she overcame and became a very powerful singer after this unusual event.

I faves your High Key Test 4 because I thought the structure of the photo is unique. She must be sitting on the chair or something, but we can't see it because of the light you tried. As a result the photo gives us a surrealistic impression.--Ancient Greek Philosophers - 18c Enlightenment Thinkers - deviantART Users

She is a secretary. After a long day's work, she's busy on the way to her room upstairs. She makes a point of taking her clothings off one by one in staircase. First of all she takes off her blazer, then tight skirt, the picture shown above is her figure at the middle of it. Photo couldn't follow her any further since it's private. She will take off her brassiere, undies next in front of the door. She will take off her spectacles finally in bed.--Ancient Greek Philosophers - 18c Enlightenment Thinkers - deviantART Users

Is this white one undergarment? I guess she wears a white undies inside a white ultra-mini spats. Laced frill is a part of her undies. Are a blue band and a red belt necessary functionally? I guess not. They are used decoratively. Above all of it, they made us confirm that she wears an outer garment. That's important.--Ancient Greek Philosophers - 18c Enlightenment Thinkers - deviantART Users

Dear Br Hiro

Thank you for your research. I was able to know how Jehovah's Witnesses think about the consistency of one book. I think some of prophesies in Bible were realised, others not yet, but eventually all prophesies will be realised since Bible is a word of God. It is important for us to have faith on prophesies. It is not very important whether some prophesies are already realised, but important thing for us is to have our faith to a word of God.

By the way, frankly speaking I wanted to take part in a wedding ceremony. You see I must be absent at work if I attend the wedding ceremony. Then....

Look at the calendar. It was Bhudda's nirvana day, not Big Pacific day!

In Japan's tradition no wedding ceremony is held in Bhudda's nirvana day, then you see a comapny usually admits their employees to attend the wedding ceremony, it becomes the appropriate reason for employees to take a holiday. But they would think questionable if I say I want to take a holiday for a friend of wedding on one of the Bhuddist nirvana day.

If the wedding day happened to be the Big Pacific day it would much easier for me to take a holiday.

That's my murmuring, please ignore it! It would have no problem if all attendants were Jehovah's Witnesses, though.

Wait for a while till I send a reply on on line study.

Sincerely,

Mer

I always wonder whether she was trying to take her hose off and start relaxing or she was trying to wear a hose to preprepare for the day.I've been watching her for days, but I found nothing to decide so far.My conclusion; she's wearing her hose. Reason; she won't put her feet on the desk if she was taking her hose off. She must have used her both hands to pull her hose up.--Ancient Greek Philosophers - 18c Enlightenment Thinkers - deviantART Users

me: Nietzsche was a philologist. But his first thesis The Birth of Tragedy shows little about his philological view. His nostalgy to Classical Greek Age was obvious and accidentally common with the yearning expressed by Mishima. I agree Classical Greek Age was idyllic, but it was a peudo ideal society artificially struck a balance under the permanent slave
Yesterday we had a preliminary session in swimming for Beijing Olympics. All five swimmers who have been expected to take part in the Olympics experimentally swam the same course two times wearing domestic ones first and Laser Racer second. All five left Japan new records wearing Laser Racer. For example, prosperous swimmer Kosuke Kitajima swam breststroke and left 1' 06"7 in wearing Mizuno, 0'59"44 -Japan new record, wearing Laser Racer.
They call Laser Racer a magic swimsuits and the results show everything.
Japan swimming association will decide whether to use Laser Racer in Olympics on 10th next month.
Japan swimming association is under contract to use exclusively swimsuits of domestic three companies. But I think those domestic compamies won't be able to sue the association because of their contract. Because they failed to innovate new swimsuits as Speedo did. Since any contract has been in effect only under the same conditions - all perform the same results, etc. The swimsuits Speedo invented is no longer called swimsuits in traditional meaning.
Thank you very much for your comment, even you leave unnamed.
I am curious to see the links you wrote, I wonder there are such sites.
I read the Bible descriptions thoroughly as to blood or blood related prohibition. But it's hard to find the relation between its description and their attitude to blood transfusion.
I imagined they think it's oppotunity for them to show their faith whether to accept or refuse blood transfusion.
It is their freedom for them to make the most of its oppotunity in the case of adults who can decide what they are eager to do, but it remains questionable in the case of teen-agers who cannot do what they want if they are opposed by their parents who happened to have different views from them.

Hi, Br ***

>What is "decalogue of Moses?",

Ten Commendments.

>and specifically, which part of sermon on the mount did you think was not practical?

I think it might be practical eventually, but unrealistic at least.

You already taught me before that we ought not to take all Jesus's words literary. Even considering that, I think some of his expressions in his sermon is simply exaggerated.

I will reply on Bible study on line 3 when I found time next.

Hi, **.

It might take some time but let's keep pace with one by one.
Isaiah was lived from 740 BC to 700 BC and wrote a Book of Isaiah, but his original one is from chapter 1 to 39. Chapter 40 to 55 was written during the end of Babylon captivity by some others. 56 to 66 was written later by others.

Of course we have been not discussing historical accuracy or scholastic view on Bible, but in fact the tone of a book drastically changes from chapter 40 and not single name Isaiah appears from chapter 40.

Basically prophecy of Hebrew Bible is a presentation of hope and Bible was written over a long period of time

In Athene Olympics Japanese swimmers performed relatively good results. It was three yesrs ago that Japanese swimming asocciation made a licence contract with domestic three companies -Asics, Descente, Mizuno for Japanese swimmers to use exclusively swimmsuits made by these three companies. As you pointed out it is not so strange, and there was no technical difference between the products of domestic companies and those of Speedo, so the contract must have made out of maily commercial purposes, not particularly intended to protect domestic industries. Their exclusive licence made them fail to innovate new products? Yes, there's possibility for it.What I matter is their attidude for innovation, research and development. Speedo Inc. must have spent millions of money to invent new swimsuits. On the other hands, what these domestic companies did was to analyse Speedo company made product thoroughly and made a new product they claim.

Swimsuits invented by Speedo Co. Ltd. called laser racer became famous as it comes up with dozens of new records. Japanese swimmers can't use it in race because Swimming association made a contract to use exclusively smimsuits made by Japanese sportswear comapanies, Assics, Descant, and Mizuno. What these companies did was to make a new smimsuits in two or three months to catch up with Beijing Olympics, then all three companies introduced a couple of new swimsuits at one time. All are similar to Laser racer by Speedo Inc. Just superficially his idea contains mutual inconsistency, so it's hard to understand his idea consistently from ordinary judgement. But remember any new idea was produced from a state of disorder first. People cannot differ one from the other first when many things were mixed together. We need to be very careful when we deal with superficially inconsistent matters.
