Dimple

About 25 years ago, an artist held a solo exhibition in Kanazawa, Japan, under the name "DIMPLE." Do you happen to have any information about her? She was an American woman, approximately 35 or 36 years old at the time.

Could you please provide any details regarding her subsequent activities?

Also, do you happen to have any photographs of her?

Back then, through a mutual friend, I spent a few hours at that friend’s home, where we had a meal and some drinks.
As I recall, she mentioned that she would be leaving Japan the following week.
It just occurred to me recently—I wonder how she’s doing now.

There were four of us there: my friend (a woman) and her boyfriend, along with Di and me. At one point, Di even showed us a promotional video of herself.

I was 37 or 38 at the time and single, so the timing could have been perfect for us to start a relationship—but since she had mentioned she would be leaving Japan so soon, I remember feeling a bit uneasy about the whole situation.

She had a somewhat eccentric air about her, as one might expect from an artist.

My impression at the time was that she was a person with a very strong sense of self-assertion. I felt it was rather self-centered of her to seek out new acquaintances when she was due to depart the very next day. Furthermore, the fact that she chose to showcase a promotional video at such a small, privately organized gathering—well, I couldn't help but think that was something she should have saved for a time when we knew each other a bit better. On top of that, her English had such a heavy American accent that, at times, I found it difficult to follow.

I apologize for focusing only on the negative, but I must add that she possessed more than enough charm as a woman.
I wonder—is she still active as an artist today?

It is I who should be thanking you; on my own, I would never have been able to discover what became of Dimple.

So, she is now happily married and has retired from her professional career.

The time we spent together, along with her work as an artist—these memories now shine like a light in the darkness.

Thank you so much for looking into this for me. The lingering sense of unease—and the misunderstandings—I had carried for so many years have vanished in an instant.
