The Power Of Media
2006.12.28 23:42
Many years ago, it was probably twenty or something some politician called the media the fouth power. Jurisdiction, administration, legislation, and media. At least at that time when I heard that I thought it's merely an exaggeration. But these days while I've been looked at the current social situations closely, as if all are related to the contents media report. Mr Horie started appearing television suddenly and probably kept on appearing too many times. He became a youngster's idle. I don't know he really violated the law, but at least from ordinary people's point of view, he did nothing wrong. But he appeared television too many times, I assume he was targetted by jurists. He was arrested and indicted because his appearances made some people grow some assumption, that is 'he must have violated some law for he came to be an internet tycoon in such a very short period'. I guess there was such an assumption in it. The power of media creeps up to not only the minds of the general public but also those of those who hold power in jurisdiction. The power of media surpasses some of other powers every now and then.
