Super Bowl
2005.02.08 2:31

I'm watching this America's greatest event- sports event. Thus online.
When I used to stay in America, all my roommates were enthusiastic and they taught me the rule of this rather complicated game, and I found it's interesting.
Time has passed and I cannot recall how to play this game anymore.
New England Patriots won.
Here in Japan, our national broadcasting are reporting two North-Korean Japanese who were chosen to be members of North-Korea National Football Team that is to play tomorrow here in Japan over the participation of World Cup Germany. Although their nationality is North Korea, they were born and raised only in Japan. Of course they speak good Japanese. Right now our anti-North Korea campaign stops, and all are to see the outcome of the game.
Sports is a most advanced form of war. Actually in Olympic year in ancient Greece, all polis were to stop fighting.

I did not watch.
I was going to record it, but forgot. I have a ReplayTV, and with some special key combinations, I can have it skip the game, and play only the commercials. This is what I wanted to do, but I forgot to turn on the recording.
Oops.
(I did remember, at the end of half-time. But the best commercials are on in the first hour.)
Don't get me wrong - I like (american) football, the game, o.k. If I happen to be watching, that's fine, I enjoy it. I just don't normally change my schedule to allow for it.

You mean you are more interested in commercials?
Especially in the countries where there had been a long conflict between the big cities where to locate the centre of politics -capital. In ancient Greece Sparta versus Athene, In Russia Moscow versus St. Petersberg, In China Beijing versus Shanghai...It was a serious problem for them to have had a region-to-region conflict. Some used to go war over sovereignty and others had football teams, baseball teams to sublimate their hostility into sports. I like football - I just dislike professional football.
In the amature games, there is a sense of "fair play" and "sportsmanship".
Professional football has changed, to be willing to accept every dirty trick possible as a good thing, as long as one doesn't get caught violating the rules.
So I have lost respect for that game.
