MMIA New Zealand
2005.02.28 22:56
As of tomorrow (March 1), first economic sanction against North Korea will take effect, which is 'ocean contamination compensation act', by applying this act, only 16 ships out of 974 North Korean ships will be allowed to enter Japan's harbours, virtually exclude almost all North Korean ships.
MMIA New Zealand is a well-known insurance company for tankers, which acceptedh 16 North Korean ships to have contacts with, but because they don't like to involve exacerbating relations of two countries, they stopped accepting North Korean ships any more. (16 ships paid 6 million dollars to MMIA, 4000 dollars per 100ton )
We are waiting to see what will become of relationship between two countries.
