A Theory Of Policeman

A Theory Of Policeman
2006.11.17 21:24

Yesterday one policeman was arrested by public indecency for exposing himself. His age happened to be the same as mine. It has nothing to do with me though. His duty was temporarily stopped for some term, then he quitted his job at the same time. There's a huge difference between the temporary stopping of his duty and being fired as punishment, in former case he can receive a retirement money. In latter case he can receive no money.
Why the crime of policeman is punished less severely than the cases committed by ordinary citizen. If we committed the same crime regadless of whether we are public servant( except for policeman ) or working at a private secter, we will be immediately fired as punishment with no retirement pay at all.
Why the crime of policeman is punishable more leniently? We tend to think policeman is a man who usually enforce law and order therefore need high ethical standard. But they -police people might think that they are enforcing law and order therefore they are contributing to decreasing the number of crimes a lot so their crime ought to be punishable less severely because of the contribution they have been doing.
