Apart from my current job, what I'm doing right now is sparing lots of hours in reading comments and analyses writers here made. Before I started reading these, only what I concentrated was domestic issues. Now I am reading articles about "gay marriage", "civilian casualties in Iraq" and " Kerry's stand on war in Iraq". I am going to soon start making a comment only after thorough thought are made...
Followings are comments of my past posts.
I see you are living in the same fantasy world as MH42.
Except for this statement, you are right. Insightful view on reality, what's happened today? Dreamers only dream for themselves not for others.
I have no inherent moral qualms about either.
I learned the world through a book. Only after I read tens of thousands of books, I went to the real world to confirm whether I acquired through the books is verifiable in reality. So sometimes I was able to convince what I learned through the books is right, but in many cases, I failed to do so. I mean what I learned through the books turned out to be just useless, not applicable to the reality, which very much disappointed me - what I had been doing was just an useless, just a wasting of time and money, energy, and what not... I was wrong.- What amazed me always when I read your idea is your idea is representing what the general public might think, certainly your idea is that of majority. Since I realised it was useless for me to know through the books, I've been made it a rule to know from reality through direct experiences. Now I am sure I can accept your idea well.
ANY system will crumble if put to the burden of keeping everyone alive just because we can.
Getting the point. We mustn't overcompensate for someone for the sake of keeping ideal alive.

I guess I understand how you are, I guess you have been confined near your workplace. I experienced before when I engaged in physical labour for 2 years - actually I didn't like to go back to teaching job soon after I came back from Europe - Ireland staying there for 4 months, in 1992. I had been out of teaching job for full 2 years. When I first encounterd you, your comments were slightly more than 2,900, so you made more than 2,000 comments while I did more than 300. You have already made a great job. I found in your journal or comments 'unique' difficulty no one could ever have produced, till you start writing your new JE, I will keep on seeking for what it really is.

I say for the first time - maybe, from the bottom of my heart, this journal is a great memorabilia I ever encounterd as to His death - we solemnly knew how MH42 personally has revered him. JPII was a distinguished figure in that he hailed from Poland - at that time communist regime, and his papacy lasts for that long -more than 25 years actually very shortly after his predecessor was dead. For the first time in 25 years we will have a conclave soon. ..
So you mean you want a very conservative pope who think the value of human life is worthier than the glove? Many years ago, probably 25-30 years ago or something, our prime minister at that time said in the event of hostagetaking by the extremist at the airport (Dhaka?), he released 30 prisoners in replace of the life of hostages. No one was hurt as a result of this over-lawful transaction. I cannot judge here that his action was wrong or right. But as an attitude of religious leader like the Pope, 'very conservative' view will help promote peaceful solution of world affairs.
#Adultery, Gayness, and Sodomy, etc.
I suspect he(MH42) is not accoustomed to arguing these controversial terms, which might merely my guess though, I want to reply to your question. As we can see it, adultery is everywhere. But there's a rule especially for this to practice, which is keep secret between two adults, that's why this is called adultery. As far as they are practicing this, as long as they don't openly admit they are committing an adultery, it should be permissable. No one can be hurt by this. While I was in marriage, I had several occasions to have etxra-marital relations. But none of which was noticed, but an only phonecall from a female colleague from a workplace caused us a big trouble, my ex-wife started being inquisitive wherever we see -so corrupted. Of course she was just a colleague. Roman Catholic Church won't change their attitude not because it's against the teaching but it might be agaist social mores. But in the Bible, it can be read as thou must not sleep with your neighbour's wife. It's true, we have to find a debauchery far enough from your residence. If we want to... I myself am opposed to the term 'homo-sexuality', in my realm of terminology, sex only means activities which might result in a childbearing. Between same sex, it's never gonna occur, so gaiety instead. We have to admit there are some people who's inclination is not directing to the opposite sex, I mean they are gay, so as long as gaiety is held among people whose inclination is something like this, who to blame? They are mostly peacelover, in my impression of course. But when it comes to sodomy, things are a little bit different than we see. In American law, sodomy might mean either oral and/or anal, whichever exercise but for a sexual intercourse between men and women. I mean of course here, about anal intercourse. Remember this is possible not only between men but between men and women. I guess sodomy is unlawful in some states in USA, for example Texas and whatever the states regarded as somehow conservative. But there's apparent reason for prohibition of this exercise. For sanitary, health mainly. In Bible there's a apparent description as to refraining from this. There will be slight change in the coming of new pope... I guess in Catholicism the use of any means of contraceptive including use of condom ought to be refrained. Though IANAC, I am not wear this. In narrow meaning of onanism refers to this - withdrawal before .. I'm anticipating what the next pope will say as to the use of contraceptives. As we can see it, Roman Catholicism is pro-life. I guess pro-life is pro protection of life already exists not a pro procreation of life which might be exist in the future. In the age of early biblical ages, the description of incest can be known. In the age of this population explosion, not Dogma but other two Ds -Doctorine and Discipline might alter as times go by.
I've always been appreciating reading harsh crossfire between you and my friends MH42, geo , XopherMV. This time too, I am expecting what MH42 would say about those terms. I might take part in .. Right now he is not as prolific as he used to be. See you then.
Homosexuality will not produce more humans. The church might consider them simple parasites because of that. This would be their perogative, no? -iminplaya
If churches opposed gayness only with respect to this unproductivity, what would become of couples of opposite gender to have 'sex' either or both of them unable to reproduce their offsprings? Still do we have to call their activities 'sex'? I used to think about it before while I was talking with MH42 before, but I was unable to answer that. So pending... However one thing certain for me to assert is they (churches) are not opposing gayness because of this unproductivity. There is an order in nature, men love women then produce offspring, it's just a matter of natural consequences. But love between same sex is something against this natural tendency, therefore churches oppose gayness.
They sure don't have a right to interfere with the lives of those outside the church.
It is not always true. For example, the more people who don't respect church decrees become, the less their realm of influence over people not only believers and followers but ordinary secular people too will be, so constantly they are trying to increase the number of believers and followers.
I am not pretty sure about the mentality of gayness. They have their own order in their nature. In general it should be avoided someone interferes with other's sexual activities especially when it comes to 'same sex matters'. I am not pretty sure how enourmous the influence of church in America particulary in these 'private matters'.
Because our sexual inclination is so close to our private things, we all don't want to be seen through as well as be interfered with by anyone anybody including anything. I am opposed to any regulation on sexual explicity including love between same sex. For this part we both stand the same position.

In East Asia, people are just so similar, we usually cannot tell where someone is from only from their appearances. In Europe, either. In some states in USA, it is hard to tell whether they are Canadians in north or Mexicans in adjacent states in California, New Mexico, and Texas. We just happened to be categolised differently only because it was hard for us to come and go between two areas. It was hard between a continent, peninsula and archipaelagoes, but now thanks to the development of traffic means, ways of communication, we all are more and more close. I believe it is silly to distinguish people between their languages, let alone borders. Borders cannot be seen from outside the earth. Borders are only in our minds.
#Individualism where multiple views are allowed
They will be allowed to be wrong, but they will not be allowed to impose their wrongness on another person.
Since our range of perception differs according to individuals, it is just unable to tell which is right or wrong, but if they think it's right, just let them do believe so, it has to do with them but it has nothing to do with us.
When someone who took powers impose their value on others, it is nothing but a tragedy. In that, America has to return to what it used to be a great America advocated in time of their foundation, if America were about to be out of the way.
