The reason some people think Confucianism is religion is probably because of the fact that his mausoleum became the very famous shrine and gathers many admirers. I used the term 'religion' in much lighter sense and oughtn't to have used it in this sense.
I understand the difference between Taoism and Confucianism is the former is more self-oriented while the latter more government-oriented. Usually the thought of Rao Tzu was supported by recluse.
