Corns are often used for many foods. In each package, we can read either just 'corn' or 'corn (not genetically modified)'.
Sadly we tend to evade buying genetically modified ones so when we just see 'corn' we are not sure whether the one was genetically modified or not. Only people who are so keen on evading genetically modified ones would not buy. Then when we see 'corn (not genetically modified ) ' of course we feel safe so we buy.
If producers indicated like 'corn (genetically modified)', many people don't buy. Then when we saw just 'corn' we are not sure whether modified one was used so if someone who is so keen on not buying genetically modified ones are not willing to buy.
Only from the difference in how to indicate, some corns are sold more than three-fourth, and others are only sold less than one-fourth.
Sure producers are wiser than consumers. They have to earn the living through this. So they came up with this indications naturally.
