Illusion of forming a community with other countries

There's a difference between Europe and East Asia. In Europe independent countries tried to form a community, and it was first European Economic Community, then European Community. It will be European Union soon. It will be one gigantic state some day in future.

In East Asia China is the only Super Power. China had been divided in many counties in ancient times. But it has been very long since one state had been formed. We cannot compare Japan and Korea with China. In population, area, the number of peoples, etc. China is already a united states and regions of many various peoples as opposed to two smaller countries as Korea, Japan, which are just a single region and people in China's criteria.

I don't feel like hoping an equal partnership in multilateral relations with China. I feel even odd when Japanese premier proclaims to seek for an East Asia Community.

He needs to say it more carefully since it let us recall 'Big East Asia Co-prosperity Zone' advocated by prewar Japan.

What Japan ought to be is to seek for multilateral relations with all countries.
Japan never be bigger than the size of islands where we live.
