When making an important decision, it's not in the least a few the fortune-telling plays the decisive role. We know 'The die is cast' and 'Cross the Rubicon' mean similar. Both mean make an important decision that cannot reverse. Now we know Caesar might cast the dice to make a decision whether he'd better cross the Rubicon. Thus he changed the world.
