US Midterm Election

Could you please explain the expected situation following the U.S. midterm election results?

What did President Trump mean when he said, "The reason for this is that I didn't run"?

Is it even possible for a president to run in a congressional election?

As far as I am aware, Mr. Trump has never served as a member of Congress, and his base of support lies within the Republican Party; the remark is somewhat confusing. Will a potential attack on Iran proceed regardless of the composition of Congress?

Does the term "deploying the military without Congressional approval" refer to conducting a landing operation?

Did Congress grant retroactive approval within 90 days of the airstrikes that took place in February?

So, the ambiguity regarding whether a war is ongoing or has ceased is linked to this legislation. Iran possesses state-of-the-art weaponry, and should it be subjected to airstrikes, it would likely launch retaliatory attacks against neighboring countries.

An invasion of Iran—whether by land, via the Kurdish regions in the east, or by sea, from the Persian Gulf—would require a massive military force. Given the significant costs involved and the difficulty of securing approval from a Congress where the Democratic Party holds a majority, such a scenario seems rather unlikely.
