More on bloomers, Girl pupils were still wearing an old-fashioned bloomers as Ms Bloomers used to make up when I entered elementary school in 1968. We say 'lantern bloomers' from its loosen shape.It was in 1970, two years after I entered the elementary school when new type of bloomers were introduced. It was very thin and tight, high leg, body concious, the colour was always dark blue, which was almost similar to thick undergarment. It was so common throughout 70s and 80s.Sometime around 1995 a girl high school student in Kobe declared not to wear bloomers any more because it so emphasises women's part more than necessary.Soon after bloomers started disappearing in schools.Now we can hardly see bloomers.
