This battle reminds me of the battle of Jieting, 228 fought between Shu and Wei at the age of three kingdoms. The general of Shu then was Ma Su and he stationed his army in a high terrain although Zhuge Liang told him to take a lower position. Ma Su ignored his advice relying only on the knowledge acquired in a book of strategy. Ma Su was unable to make allowances of the water supply in the region.
The army of Ma Su was defeated and later he was captured by Shu.
