You use the term stake instead of cross.

It's OK, but are you the one who don't celebrate Sunday as Lord's Day? Even if not so still you take holiday in this day. Isn't it a heretic tradition?

So I will commment on an aspect of transfusions you haven't asked about.
The stand of Jehovah's Witnesses regarding transfusion is, ever so gradually, entering medical mainstream. For different reasons, of course, but it is still happening. For example, New Scientist magazine ran an article recently entitled "An Act of Faith in the Operating Room." The act of faith was not refraining from a transfusion. It was giving one. Details here:

But first sorry my next query relates to both New and Old Testaments. It is about blood transfusion.
Jehovah's Witnesses is well-known for their refusal to participation in World War II first and later they came to be known by refusal to one of modern medical treatments - blood transfusion.
As I confessed many times I have carefully read all Scriptures both New and Old already and I found two parts Jehovah's Witnesses has been relied on for their refusal to blood transfusion. I don' t mention them now because you must know them as well.
One is from Old Testament, which reads we can eat any meat but we need to get rid of blood and in New Testament it reads we get away from blood. No one scriptures say we mustn't inject others blood into our body.
Blood transfusion is a modern medical treatment started from 18th century- if I recall it correctly, so it's out of question we can't find such verses written before the first century.
As I pointed out in my last query that swine was banned from eating because it was contaminated from various germs, so the command was so proper for us to keep.
I don't think no modern humans from early civilisation had had blood for daily dietary. It must have related to very different heretic traditions though it was very sane for us not to have blood in our ordinary life. But how about transfusion? It is a medical procedure necessary for our urgent occasion. Sometimes this act is held out of pure philanthropic viewpoint, let alone it's nothing to do with heretic traditions.
Refusal to blood transfusion often bring about end of life immediately. I know one of my acquaintances who's dead after he refused it.
In this particular issue we can read in Revelation 16:6 that 'drink blood' and of course Jesus compared the red wine to his blood in Eucharist. How do you interpret them?

Slow and steady make perfect

One of the big reasons I'm still Catholic is because that isn't just a saying- there's a real system behind it.
Long before anybody ever imagined the scientific method, we had the Councilar method. Unlike some other more modern Christian sects, for Catholics (both Orthodox and Latin) Doctrine Develops. Dogma is set in stone, but doctrine develops, and discipline (which the Councilar method also affects) is temporary. Theology is in fact logical, despite what some atheists will want to tell you.
But one big difference between the Councilar method and more modern theologies and philosophies; it's slow. So slow in fact that it took more than 1200 years for one theological theory (the Immaculate Conception of Mary) to move from first being written down, to being believed by the whole church, to being preached from the See of Peter as being infallible.
The theologians of Catholicism are nothing if not complete in their tasks.
600 years to come up with an Apology to Galileo for our side of the argument.
But when I see such theological mistakes as the American Shakers denying the existence of human sexuality or the rush of emergence theology to embrace homosexuality, or scientific mistakes such as Thalidomide and the nuclear bomb, I have to wonder if speed in human development isn't a mistake in and of itself. How much better it is when change happens slowly enough so that those who remember the old way are long dead before the new way fully takes hold!

But by ignoring the moral and philosophical implications of their work, quite often science gets it wrong. One way I think science is getting it wrong in the United States under the Obama Administration is the fight over stem cell research- because the fight had been going the other way under the Bush Administration, embryonic stem cell research is being funded at the expense of adult stem cell research- despite the fact that embryonic research has yet to find a single cure, but we can hardly go more than three months without hearing about a new cure from Adult Stem Cell research. It's clear which one should get more funding based on past performance, yet we do the reverse because it is trendy and quick rather than making the harder moral decision.

I've spent the last 25 years or so with homophobia and a fear of gender segregated team sports, because I've been mislabeling idiot jocks as homosexuals (due to certain behaviors common in my high school when it came to team razing and initiation ceremonies).So first, to all homosexuals out there who aren't predatory and don't bother the people around you, I'm sorry for misjudging you. For all of the jocks I misjudged- you might want to look at some of those team rituals with a critical eye towards how they might look to the kid you're bullying just because he's weird. And finally, to all parents of autistic kids- you might want to have a talk with them about stereotypes and how being bullied has affected the way they see the world.

No food law any more

This time I agree with you. Christians can eat whatever they want.
As to the verses in Acts, I read them again. Peter was so hungry that he came into trance. In his vision he saw God and God said he doesn't have to follow Mosaic law when he is too hungry to keep his life. He must have eaten them. It was not a bad decision as a human, of course, and as Christians too.
Mosaic law was written in 1300 BC. Many people today believe Pentateuch was arranged during Babylonian captivity, but it is easily assumed that the original code existed in Moses' time. 1300 years, it's long time. It is not strange even if the order had become obsolete at a time of missionary by Paul.
I've got many other questions, but it's time to take a rest as Moses commanded.
I will send another email sometime after we take a break.

Origin of Holiday

Probably my remark might be thought too trivial. He was executed whatever the way it might be.
Moses was a wise man. He tried to establish social systems valid still in today's world.
Jewish people had been suffered from hard work and no rest. They had to keep on working till they died.
Moses had thought how they can get a rest without changing the frame of society. Hard work is, of course necessary for humans to survive. Taking a rest is, also very important to keep on working efficiently and everlastingly. So it was important to determine how often they can take a rest without losing two important factors, working hard and taking a rest.
Moses tried to stabilise the rate 5.5 workday and 1.5 taking a rest by introducing Sabbath. The custom of Sabbath was very new to them and some tried to work even when others are taking a rest.
Moses thought it is a sever violation or threat to the effective continuation of productive activity in society. Therefore it took one night to make up his mind whether to execute and how to execute him -the Sabbath breaker.
Moses used in his execution not hanging, stubbing only by one executor but stoning by all members of society, emphasising he committed a crime not against one person but against the benefit of all - I think this is the meaning of his being stoned to death.
I recall somewhere in Hebrew Scriptures that we mustn't eat pork. In today's world no Christians keep this rule. What I understand is the pork at that time is not the same one now we have. In ancient times swine eat various foods so they tend to be contaminated by poisonous matters, therefore prohibited.
Is my understanding correct? Or is there any new decree that we can eat pork?

One Sabbath breaker

After I answer his four questions, I'm going to throw in a fifth that most people don't understand, and then I'll wrap up with a why at the end.1. Why should sex by an infertile couple be considered "open to procreation" when sex with a spermicide isn't? This is the Abraham and Sarah answer- Sarah was considered infertile when she has Isaac, the start of the whole Judaeo-Christian world. Sex by an infertile couple is considered open to procreation because miracles of this form have been known to happen throughout human history. I'd point out though that while medical science now can duplicate this miracle- it's still only RCC-approved if GOD does it, not MAN.2. Is Natural Family Planning considered acceptable only because it is less reliable?No, and in fact, modern NFP is more reliable not less than many competing forms of birth control. Rather, the ideal form of human sexuality for the Roman Catholic Church is to follow St. Paul- and not do it at all (several times in his letters Paul recommends celebacy over marriage, only reluctantly allowing it to "prevent worse sin" and when it becomes clear that Christ's return isn't going to be tomorrow). NFP shows solidarity with celebacy because it is based on abstinence (more on this in question 5 below).3. (If condoms were less reliable, would they be acceptable?)Nope, because the problem with condoms isn't their reliability, but rather man's attempt to thwart the will of God in procreation. The Church's teaching on human sexuality includes two levels of holiness, and two levels of sin:1. Celebacy. The ultimate denial of one's sexual orientation, by simply not having any. Denial of self for the will of God.2. Marriage & NFP. Denial of oneself for the continuation of the species, which is ordained by God in the Book of Genesis.3. Monogamous but outside of Marriage or Using Birth Control, or these modern extended families built out of serial monogamy, aka divorce- I kind of get the feeling this is considered a Venal Sin, not Mortal. I'd put monogamous homosexual couples in this group- denying the procreative aspect of sex, but as welcome as any other sinner in the church.4. True depravity- that 1% of fetishists and the like that makes the rest of us gag, whose sexual practices and addictions are so far outside the norm that even the most tolerant of us says, we can't support that.Burn in hell for all eternity? Just being homosexual and monogamous won't make you do that. Jesus loves you too much to allow that to happen.And I need to say a word about divorce. If your marriage is sacramental- that is you take seriously your vows and you try your best to place Christ at the center of your marriage and you're a good level 2 heterosexual Catholic as listed above, it doesn't matter where your lusts lead you- you've chosen your path, and NO other options should be available to you. Commitment, not love, is at the center of a good Catholic marriage- because love may come and go, but you've made a commitment to yourself and your God to stick with this family NO MATTER WHAT.

Shadrach, Meshack, and Abednego
Hello good evening Br **.
17 years ago it was hard for me to adjust to new life in Ireland. I hope you are well in new environment. Although I started a new life here..anyway,

I'm not sure it was here though, I recall Bible says one mustn't be guilty from only one witness. I have never noticed this can apply to Gospels.

I read carefully four gospels at age 15 and I found no contradictions among these.
Today I found minor 'contradictions' as in who carried the torture stake, or the date Jesus was executed, etc.
Remember difference is natural if a different author describes someone's life independently, so it's natural there's a difference between first three synoptic gospels and the fourth one.
I don't believe we normally say them contradictions.
Rather what I found strange was that the first three gospels are very similar, almost the same and I recall I just wondered why similar books had to be written and still this question remains to be my enigma.
I learned from what I read that Mark was written first then Matthew and Luke were written based on Mark with reference to another lost document. John was written from completely different point of view.
All books started being written after at least 30 years passed from the death of Jesus.
I suppose three synoptic gospels were written and used independently in different congregations among early Christians. Three similar gospels were taken as canonical Bible intending for followers to believe God gave similar accounts of Jesus in three different evangelists, which itself is a work done by God.
Probably early editors of Bible knew what Deuteronomy 19:15 says and applied in most effective way.
My next question is were really Shadrach, Meshack, and Abednego saved from furnace?

Four Gospels
Hello, good evening Br **..
I was unable to attend the meeting regularly for about a year. Today I felt very happy, I met many friends there. In Kingdom Hall, almost all people are Jehovah's Witnesses, while I am not. Yet I am where I'm supposed to be. I feel very happy. I started attending English congregation three years ago.

In today's world we find more and more secular people, but still we have many people who have faith but without accurate knowledge. Jehovah's Witnesses are one of rare exceptions who have faith and accurate knowledge. That's why I like to attend the meeting.
Our wisdom is ignorable in comparison with Almighty God Jehovah, that's why we like to get closer to him through everyday Bible study.

Greek Scriptures consist of mainly four parts, that is Gospels, Acts, Letters, Revelations.
Gospels describe the life of Jesus four times. Acts describes Paul's journeys, almost all letters were thought to be written by Paul, and Revelations are full of metaphoric scenes.
All are written in fifty or sixty years time. In comparison with the very lengthy time Hebrew Scriptures were written, both the portion and period are significantly small and short.
Hebrew Scriptures were written in State sponsorship, while Greek Scriptures were actually a work done by each individuals. What I mean is Christianity was probably a new religion started by Johns the Baptizer. At that time it had been quite a long since Jewish people lost their independence. They had needed a new religion.
I don't disagree with you as to this point - Greek Scriptures were not only for Jewish people, but Gentile, too. But I mean all writers must be Jewish.

Here lies an eternal riddle -why perfect humans made a mistake.
The answer is Jehovah gave humans both freedom to do good as well as freedom to do evil.

We can choose good or bad freely. Only mistake we made was we chose to do evil. But it's not a sign of imperfection. If we can only do evil or do good, we must be imperfect.
What I mean here is we'd better affirm human nature more positively. I feel very pessimistic when they say humans are imperfect.

All are written in fifty or sixty years time. In comparison with the very lengthy time Hebrew Scriptures were written, both the portion and period are significantly small and short.
Hebrew Scriptures were written in State sponsorship, while Greek Scriptures were actually a work done by each individuals. What I mean is Christianity was probably a new religion started by Johns the Baptizer. At that time it had been quite a long since Jewish people lost their independence. They had needed a new religion.
I don't disagree with you as to this point - Greek Scriptures were not only for Jewish people, but Gentile, too. But I mean all writers must be Jewish.

Here lies an eternal riddle -why perfect humans made a mistake.
The answer is Jehovah gave humans both freedom to do good as well as freedom to do evil.

We can choose good or bad freely. Only mistake we made was we chose to do evil. But it's not a sign of imperfection. If we can only do evil or do good, we must be imperfect.
What I mean here is we'd better affirm human nature more positively. I feel very pessimistic when they say humans are imperfect.

Hello, good afternoon, Br **..
I read whole Bible five years ago as a secular person. Still I am secular, but I evaluate Christian values a lot. In my impression Bible is basically a book of historic record of Jewish people and their activities, so faith is very different from what this record says. Faith is a matter of our mind, not knowledge.
Christianity in general starts from one premise which is humans are imperfect. This thought derives from what Adam did, so-called an original sin. But every time I hear humans are imperfect, I feel very dubious if they are.
I think humans are perfect. Yes, they often make a mistake. But making a mistake is not a sign of imperfection, rather a hope to further development in future.
Everlasting life doesn't mean individual's immortality at all. Rather it means humans' prosperity will last forever. In today's world our life expectancy is expanding thanks to a development in medicine and organ transplant, etc. , but immortal is nothing but a fear. We live limited lives, therefore we strive.
So here's my questions. Are really humans imperfect? and what is the real meaning of everlasting life?

Strange ideas

Aim of prophesies
Hello good afternoon, Br **..
I was in Kokura for one year and three months. I started attending the meeting for the first time in more than one year last night. My former partner left Japan for America, so he is unable to resume our Bible study as we promised before.
I read almost all publications the society issued in the past and I don't want to use such publications in our Bible study. In the past we didn't use any books, everytime I raised a question as I asked last night and he answered the question from quoting verses in Bible, so no particular day and time is needed, just twenty minutes after the meeting, that'll be fine.
And now we are in Bible study already. We can use on line in effective way for it. Please send me attachments, etc. you want me to read. I will read and examine them.
My question last night was..History tells Cyrus conquered Babylon and released Jewish people from Babylonian captivity. He allowed them to rebuild Palace in Jerusalem. In yesterday's meeting they said this was predicted in Bible.
Ummm, many prophecies were written in lots of metaphoric words, but is there any description as ' A king in Persia will conquer Babylon and release Jewish people there.'
At that time prophets were in Babylon. Did Daniel prophesy so?

It invites confusion since marriage is a legal matter. Law ought to be made from the eyes of majority. So I say homosexuality and hetero sexuality don't make any difference when it comes to wrong or right. Both sexualities are normal. Some like cheesecake while others like tiramisu. It has something to do with reproductions certaily since many heterosexuals have babies, but that's not all. Some heterosexuals don't have babies on account of infertility and aging, of course. Some homosexuals have babies in test tube, surrogate mother or adoptation just as heterosexual infertiles do. In short marriage is a legal matter, but whether we like males or females are just a matter of personal preference. Sex is fun. It belongs to personal freedom whichever gender we like.

It invites confusion since marriage is a legal matter. Law ought to be made from the eyes of majority. So I say homosexuality and hetero sexuality don't make any difference when it comes to wrong or right. Both sexualities are normal. Some like cheesecake while others like tiramisu. It has something to do with reproductions certaily since many heterosexuals have babies, but that's not all. Some heterosexuals don't have babies on account of infertility and aging, of course. Some homosexuals have babies in test tube, surrogate mother or adoptation just as heterosexual infertiles do. In short marriage is a legal matter, but whether we like males or females are just a matter of personal preference. Sex is fun. It belongs to personal freedom whichever gender we like.

Very good. I think it's a more realistic approach.Traffic means was closely related to the form of country, government. In the past 'sea' made a natural barrier between regions. Inside the continent 'mountains' played the similar role on them. Now sea and mountains made no significant meaning any more in defining the borderlines. Airplanes can connect the regions beyond any geographical obstacles. Means of communication goes far more. Letters are not sent by hands, but signals.

Branches of Literature
The big difference: Theology and Science
NO, this isn't going to be yet another screed on evolution. In fact, in my religion, evolution is an accepted fact, it's the theory of random quantum mechanics that isn't accepted.Still, though, Theology and Science do look at things in one very different way: Dogmas vs Axioms. Axioms in science can actually be disproven- just like any other theory or law or idea. Whole schools of scientific thought have, in the past, had their axioms disproven and they've had to either change or go extinct because of it. Not so with theology- in theology, Dogma is sacred. In Roman Catholic Terms it's the "Deposit of Faith" upon which all else is built. Everything else in theology is explaining the Dogma to new generations- there is never anything added or taken away.In this way, I charge that the so-called soft sciences of Psychology and Economics are not really sciences at all- but rather theologies. Their dogmas, even when apparently destroyed by an aberrant personality or an economic collapse, are held to be inviolate. Thus, we get Freudian psychologists who explain everything in terms of sexual development; and Milton Friedman economists who claim that cutting taxes is the right thing to do even when consolidation of wealth is destroying the market.

They as well as politics ought to be dealt still to be a part of literature.Science in narrow meaning is so called natural sciences as physics, chemistry, mathematics and I still approach psychology, economics, and politics in a very literal way, in other words very theological way as such.
