The Future of the Internet

All media- books, magazines, newspapers, letters, television, telephone, are all integrated into one medium -which is the Internet.
Undoubtedly, those who rule the Internet rule the next world. Till then I intend to continue to be a slashdotter.
I tried counting the number of sites of yahoo, google, msn, linux, slashdot, bbc.
yahoo 372 million.
google 224 million
msn 156 million
linux 175 million
slashdot 16.1 million
bbc 65.1 million
When the number of sites of slashdot surpasses those of yahoo, the name slashdot would go down on our permanent record.

Reproduction, Pleasure, Pornography

Otter, Thank you for my entry in your friends list.
Since I started my writing carrier too many years ago -thirty years probably, I have been carefully tried to evade too much sexually explicit expressions.
Sex is a solemn fact no one can deny, in our daily life it certainly exists. But it is often told too many times as a part of pornography. Pornography is to arouse our superficial sense, so some people might consider it as indecent, obscene, just inappropriate to deal with in serious debate, journal, etc.
But believe me, sex means first of all reproduction of another life through two gametes meet. Pleasure with it is subjective truth. We humans happen to be a subject of two gametes unification, so in porngraphic point of view, it only sheds light on pleasure two gametes might feel through assumptions we have in our sexual activities. But strictly speaking we cannot be a master of two gametes unification, through assumptions we tend to believe we can feel the same pleasure we have in the case of our unification, but it's never possible for us outsiders to be the ones who actually had unification. When we talk about sex as a biological fact, it is absurd for us to feel it connotes sexual titilation we as a subject are liable to feel.
That said, it always follows danger to deal with sex in explicit way, when I wrote 'having date & insemination' the description of the record of date (or night ) to 'inseminate'. But in insemination probably all the livings unmistakenly feel 'pleasure', but again believe me this pleasure is nothing but a subjective fact each individuals might have felt, but it has nothing to do the fact that the reproduction takes place through sex regardless of whether there's pleasure among those who involved or 'Not'. This might be gong to be just an excuse though, when I wrote that JEs I was about to be mad by overwhelming delightfulness -we can get another life through love. In spite of its indecent nature of those descriptions, I wanted to write down for the record of proof of our love -total unification of two gametes. In insemination, always pleasure follows but the meaning of insemination is much more than the pleasure, what are they?, they are responsibility, obligation, duty, promiss, eternal love, relationship and marriage in the end.
By the way, for the first time since my JE started, one name disappeared from my fan's list. His name is Otter. Judging from his JEs, comments, he is a man of decency and integrity. I just feel regret losing his readership in my JEs. If he felt disgust my sexually too much explicit descriptions, I just feel very sorry to him.
As a sign of gratefulness, I keep leaving his name in my friends list.
Thank you for my entry although it passed.

Summer Festival

On the 15th to 17th of July in many parts throughout Japan, summer festivals are held. These festivals are basically based upon a Buddhist belief that the dead soul returns to the home of their offsprings.
Actually I am not sure whether the dead soul really returns to but certainly when we hear the sound of drums in my hometown, we can feel our ancesters minds more closely.

And the Ship Goes

However hard my life seems
The ship whose name is My Life goes through
Seems though the ship has been shipwrecked
Need to go to dockyard for the time being
The time is nigh to quit my job
Or else I would go to decay in the sea
The ship needs repairing
I think so from the bottom of my heart
Oh my heart failure is so severe
Even a fluff of feather makes me unendurable any more any longer to carry my load

Assuming What She Not Said

Eri; 'You are strange.' Mer; 'I might be strange.' Eri; 'No no you are.'
Am I strange to be eager to make love to foreigners, strange to be wanting my girlfriend to have babies?
Eri; 'You yourself haven't noticed yet though you are representing one of typical Japanese, I am not sure you're working three or four companies. What was your last night saying, pretending to be descent because I am working still in an office at 0:47 am? Crazy!'
According to her I am strange in that - I like foreign girls and I like my partner to have babies. But I am not the exception from typical Japanese -always work work work.
Her comment on me must be derived from her limited experiences. But in a sense it - the remark to my attitude to work -gets to the point.
I'm not working because I like working. Maybe many other Japanese people don't, either.
But her remarks on who to love and who I want to have my kid are irrelevant. I love her, no matter who she is. that's a matter of personal preference. And if someone really love somebody it stands to apparent reason that he wants her to have their kids.
I can see something from what she not said. Silence tells much more than eloquence.
Though I shall attempt again to have her pregnant.

Analogy & Facts

'A car is parked forward and the rear part is so damaged, the doors are opened.'
I heard somebody's telephoning to somebody, the conversation didn't seem to be stopped.
If I didn't interrupt their conversation through telephone, my car & I would have been reported to the police which caused another trouble.
I didn't say anyhting, just raise my body and waved by hand, suggesting no nothing this is my car I'm just sleeping.
At last I started taking a nap in my car at 1110 p.m. It was slightly after I started taking a nap in a car.
People in general tend to try not to see the facts that is lying in front of them as a fact, but try to judge the meaning of the scene through analogies based on a memory they got in a TV, movies, books, etc.
As a matte of fact, the scene I happened to come up with might have been so similar to the scenes he saw in either TV, the movies.
So the one interrupt the situation through analogy not from the direct fact he faced.
All he had to do was just confirm someone's taking a nap.
Or worse, he might have called police the moment he saw someone's lying in a car.

The Age of Computers

As I suggested in my latest journal 19c-20c-21c, at the age of pre-modern society everything was decided according to God's criteria, only after the age of reason arrived first in Europe the age of human domination on overall criteria started.
Now the times are not pre-modern, modern but post-modernism.
In our company there are many rooms for many purposes - for employees to take a rest, for customers to choose our products, for products to store, for computers to maintain. Because we just ended having a lengthy rainy season unlike we experienced in the last year, hot summer abruptly began. Every day over 30 celcius degrees. Everybody agrees the showroom for customers has to be kept cool in order for customers to feel comfortable so that they can purchase more and our products are supposed to be kept cool to keep quality.
The problem is in our backyard - a computer room and our cafeteria. Computers are supposed to be regarded as the most crucial part of our company -management, sales, communication to the headquaters so the room has to be kept always airconditioned for around the clock. But when it comes to our cafeteria, we have to turn off airconditioning when we all are away, besides even if we were present, the temparature can't go down below 28 celsius which means still the room is hot and humid.
We have some break depends on our working hours -so when we came back from cafeteria where all employees have to take a rest, we even feel that ' now working hours more comfortable than the lunch break starts.'
I can't help but say that we are now in the age of computer domination, human resources are apt to be thought replaceable anyway.

Legitimacy, Illegitimacy, Primogeniture

The wife of Abraham was unable to reproduce their offspring for sometime after their marriage. Obviously in order to produce their offspring Abraham let another woman have his child with his wife's consent. The first child between another woman and Abraham was Ishmael.
Later his wife had a baby with Abraham. His name is Isac.
Bioloically speaking Ishmael is the first son and Isac is the second, under the primogeniture Ishmael had to succeed all the fortunes and wealth, land, etc. of Abraham. But the reality was different. Because Isac was a son born protected under the legal system -marriage where the meaning of legitimacy comes from, Isac was loved by his father and Ishmeal was not regarded as important as his younger brother -Isac, later Ishimael was kicked out of their house.
My question is marriage on paper as a form of legal registration should be prior to the biological reproduction held before the outcome from the legal liason appeared.

Happy Tidings

0:47 In Yahoo City -The voice was very very small. I realised the phone call was made from here at a glance I saw her number being displayed on the panel. She hadn't gone to Australia. At least yet today. She had been claiming something in her tiny voice. Hard to hear. ..I managed to hear the word 'unfair' ' protection' ' Everytime you didn't wear condom.' ..'It's too late' I understand she's claiming she might be pregnant.
I said,' I am very glad to hear your being pregnant. I am very happy and very proud of your being pregnant. ' She said, 'Still not sure. Can you come to me tonight?' 'Tonight I am in charge, still at work, so how about tomorrow?. ' 'Eleven o'clock p.m.' 'O.K.'
Tomorrow I'm going to buy a pregnancy test kit in pharmacy and bring it to her room. For the first time we were able to see such an early at night.
Through pregnancy our friendship is going to be temporary to eternal.
This time too I might fail to be a deliquent again.

Middle-aged Deliquent

I am a middle-aged deliquent.
I've never read books of manga since I was a kid. I have no memory of watching TV from at age eleven to twenty-five. It was the first time to watch TV only after I went to America since I was eleven.
I raised up without knowing many popular singers and TV talents.
Now I want to be deliquent, middle-aged deliquent.
But I've got a problem. Because I was sufferred from emphysema, bronchitis, I cannot take a breath in a bar.
In my youngerdays -throughout my thirties, I never encounterred such difficulties, at least I hadn't noticed. I am not young. I intend to go clubing with great care.
That's why I call myself middle-aged deliquent. If I were a juvenile deliquent, I would not care for myself as much as I do now.
With great care.

Importance of Simplicity

First of all this story is not my invention. I read in a textbook while I was looking for a teaching material 17 years ago.
One farmer who has eleven cattles needed to give them to his three sons in his leaving. He said, 'I give a half to my eldest son and one-third to my second son and one-twelfth to my youngest son. Then he left.
Sons were in trouble sharing their father's cattles.
One traveller who carries one cattle run into them and insisted he can settle the problem. Then he added his cattles to the sum of twelve, then he alloted according to their father's saying - 1/2=6, 1/3=4, 1/12=1
Sons are so glad and asked him what to want. Traveller just asked is the cattle he added and left somewhere.
The lesson we have to learn from this fable must be somthing like the importance to accept someone even unknown to us. But believe me this was very dangerous. In this real world, he would request more than one cattle he added to allot. Three sons might have to give away one cattle each has to the traveller.
The lessons from this fable is what is to blame is their father - instead of saying such a riddle all he had to say is ' I give 6 cattles to my eldest and 4 cattles to my second and 1 to youngest. He didn't have to use unneseccarily difficult formula to explain simpler matters - that's the lesson.

Way Out

In 1991, summer I was travelling around Europe, I don't remember where though in some place in Germany, I was sitting on the coach facing each other. In the other side one German was taking a nap and I was just watching him and the landscape outside without serious intention.
After we passed one station (Should I say Bahnhof?) he abruptly woke up and asked me in German 'Where are we now? ' I couldn't understand his quick way of speaking so I replied 'I don't understand German.' It is needless to say he replied as I mentioned above. I replied with a smile, 'Here's Ousgang.' Because I managed to read the billboard in the departing station. He replied 'Eh?' I repeated with confidence, 'Here's Ousgang.'
Seemed he understood something he fell in sleep after he saw around. He seemed to understand there was not the station he's supposed to get off.
But believe me I did the right thing - if it were the station he's supposed to get off, he would have to get off even after the train took off - It was only much later I learned the German word Ousgang means Way out in English. I noticed there are many 'Ousgang' stations in Germany.

It's Nowhere

One night -before I go to sleep God assigined to me the question - in which he asked, 'Define what is good and evil and submit before me when you wake up, but you have to place yourself beyond good and evil then try to answer my question.' I went asleep.
As God suggested I tried to place myself where beyond good and evil then I define it and submit in front of God. I was still asleep. God refused to accept my reply saying,' How come you knew what is good and evil while you placed yourself where beyond good and evil.' I hesitated to wake up and again I kept on sleeping and tried to think about what is good and evil.
As God suggested very beginning of his question I again placed myself where beyond good and evil - the place was little to be left but I placed. Then I thought I found what is good and evil then I submitted my answer to God before I wake up. God said ' You believe you found the answer what is good and evil and you placed yourself beyond good and evil as I suggested but your answer is wrong. You couldn't define what is good and evil. How come you define what is good and evil while you placed yourself beyond good and evil. The place where beyond good and evil was already very little but as God suggested in the very very beginning of his question, I placed myself in what I think it's very very little to be left and again I submitted my answer what is good and evil. But again God told me, ' You submitted your answer before me before you wake up. You yourself are placed where beyond good and evil but believe me your answer is wrong. You cannot define what is good and evil while you placed yourself beyond good and evil.
Then I woke up.
The answer was nowhere. We cannot define what is good and bad, let alone we cannot place ourselves where beyond good and evil.
The only thing we are allowed to is we placed ourselves in what is thought to be good or what is thought to be evil. Anybody cannot know what is good and evil, just we are determined to be good or evil by the standard we ourselves have to decide. Good and evil depends on ourselves. It's nowhere -beyond good and evil.

The Importance of Love

Love is power to pull one another. Because I happened to love someone from where their second national language is English, I learned to think and write in their language. It's because of love. Now I feel some anxiety. She might have been my muse, now she's gone though it's temporarily, how do I dispense with her while she is out here. I am able to go clubbing but I am not confident to gain another girlfriend from overseas. Worst of all I am poor at long distance love.
Let it be. I hope I can find an objective of love in a physical term, not necessary to have a love in mind any more.

A Daydream

On the way back from her room, I stood beside the small sewage -actually it's a river but very small. This river used to be used as a transportation of coal from the upper area where lots of coal used to be produced. At that time this area must have been prosperous much more than now.
Twenty-eight years ago when I was still in the first grade of the high school, I used to visit here. At that time I was a member of the swimming team, honestly speaking I am very poor at sports except for swimming and iron bar. When I attended the swimming club for just three months(it's quite short!), we used to exercise swimming 5km, but only I was unable to swim such a long course, I was alloted to swim 2km instead any way our team was strong and the strongest team in our metropolitan area. We went to an inter high schools in our metropolitan area for swimming. Our high school was one of two strongest among many. We went to the other strongest high school in our region. Both schools were competing in many areas, in baseball, in academic record, etc.
There I encountered two beautiful people - one is a woman and the other is a guy - the woman was very pretty and had round, big and seems bouncy bosoms, the other guy was handsome and very tall - seemd to me they were a best couple even saw. As a matter of fact both took the first prize in their play competitions. Glittering in my eyes..
While I was standing beside the river, I recalled what I saw there in the first place 28 years ago. People out of work were playing Chinese chess. Not two or three but many and more people were watching their playng a Chinese chess. Now they are gone. 28 years ago the street along the small stream counted lots of people out of work. 28 years ago the time was changing from coal to oil in energy that came up lots of unemployed. Now they are gone, now this area came to be a school town where lots of juveniles can be seen.
On the way back from her room I just realised the best couple is us as if it were just transported from the one I saw here in my high school days but now Eri and I seemed the best couple we ever encountered in our life.
She flew to Australia today... As if I lost something very precious in my mind.
Daydreeam, illusion, vacancy.

In Chopin's Case

In the case of Chopin, the problem is so severe. No pianist including some of highest virtuoso is unable to play the piano fully expressing what Chopin intended to express.
But even the problem is more severe. Chopin's music is located deeper than what he expressed in various signs and notes, so his expression cannot meet his intended music.
His music is so perfect that anyone including any virtuoso and he himself cannot express. To feel his music in our mind. That is the only way left for us.

Bach; Chaconne

What lacks in Bach's chaconne? It's love. What is Bach's chaconne all about? It's severity, strictness, solemnity, seriousness, of life.
How many times I listen to this song? Every time I hear this song, I learn how our life is severe.
I prefer piano solo in Bussoni's.
This song lacks love and harmony. I just feel his strict attitude forwarding to his life, without love he composed this song. - No harmony but sometimes confused and stormed but respectful and solemn.

The African Night

M; 10:50 a.m. Won't you see me tonight? How about around midnight?
As is usual I sent an email at 10:50 a.m. on Friday, usually we make it a rule to see on Friday nights, we both need to work on Saturday.
E; 15:59 p.m. Please call me after 7. It's urgent. M; Alright
Seems we can see. I got excited.
I called her twice in 19:00 and 19:40 but I was unable to talk to her, instead I left a message, like I try calling you later again, I call you later. Soon I got a email from her saying , 19:55 Got your message. No need to call. Will be in touch with you. I replied; OK, thanks.
The time is nigh.
23:53 I got an email from her saying; Will be home at one. Come when you can, but you have to leave early.
I got on a car and start driving to her apartment at 00:15. Usually it takes more than one hour to get to her room.
0:59 Mercedo, I have to leave really early tomorrow.. before 6, so if it's too early for you, then let's meet another time. I just can't awake too long tonight. If you're still in Yahoo City then stay there. Let me know.
1:11 Yeah, I just start driving to so still in Yahoo City. How about Sunday around 10 p.m.? Now you take a rest. -I was one-third of the way to her room.
1:12I'm leaving for Australia. Maybe see you in September.
I replied. 1:19 That's another story. Let me see you just at a moment. Please let me come to see tonight. Any way I'm arriving soon.
1:22 Only if you're close. Otherwise we can hang out another time, fine, I have a long day tomorrow, can't stay up late.
I left unanswered, and busy heading for her room.
Around 2:10 I arrived her room, because I had to stop to reply her email, I was delayed a little.
She said; 'Why you don't wear condom? You want me to get pregnant? I'm not pregnant though.' Everytime I meet her I ner wear condom, so she can be pregnant, just so far not.
I said,' It is just a natural thing for men and women to have babies. as a result of our encounter, I intend to accept the consequences we will have. She came out the breath she saved, I undersood she felt relaxed. -Our African night just started.
After a short liason, I wanted her to sleep because I knew she leaves very early in the morning, so I was sitting on the sofa, having beer and meditating... She said after a while, 'What are you doing?' I said, 'I am meditating as is always. ' I know it was not a time to meditate but... 'Come!'
Last night was much more than the whole nights combined. I was extremely happy and proud of spending the last African night in Japan, indeed it was just beyond discriptions.

Chopsticks

Needless to say, we Asians use chopsticks in eating. And usually we eat in using a pair of chopsticks, two chopstics are pair in colour, design, shape, length, etc. No one feels ever it's strange.
But believe me, we don't have to use a pair of chopsticks necessarily in order just to eat. Colour, design, shape, length, no need to use the same one as the other. I wonder it's OK to use various combination of chopsticks. If one is white, it's fine to use black in the other. It doesn't have to be the same length, it has nothing to do with how convenient to use them.
Why am I writing this? I am suggesting that it is merely based on a vague assumption why we have to use an exactly same pair of chopsticks. That's an illusion. We can use any combination we prefer.
Why am I writing this? My love is from overseas, our appearances are indeed very different. But our friendship is solidly based on common interest, belief, value. What is important is not our appearances but functions we -a pair of both chopsticks - have.

The Legend of Seventh Night

The seventh day is decided to the day of rest. Remember when we were still in Egypt...
As far as as I know that was Moses who decided to take a rest once in seven days.
The legend of seventh evening might imply how important to see loves -girlfriends at least once in a week. Last week I failed to call her simply because I was very tired. Owing to not see her I spent a miserable week... I call her with confidence and respect tomorrow night. May it's going to be a fabulous night tomorrow!

Seventh Evening

It is seventh evening tonight. Once in a year one prince and one princess can meet through the Milky Way, indeed it's a romantic night. Except here in my room. I am alone as it has been. Cloudy skies all over in recent weeks. Now they can pass through to see all over the skies.

The Age of Self Responsibility

As society allows more and more freedom of individuals how to act in society, the less the responsibility government owes to its individuals becomes. Government/ corporate responsibility has been diminishing as the range of freedom we excercise enlarge, basically it is a very favourable trend our society ought to head for.
We have to prepare for our life plan ourselves.

Diminishing Corporate Responsibility

As to Marxist Hacker 42's question -Does still a Japanese corporation take care of their employees well to their retirement? I replied as 'yes, overall they look after their employees in response to loyalty their employees kept on showing. Indeed in spite of the labour standard law, it has been somehow taken for granted that people once employed in a company they have to work as much as they can even if it exceeds the limit being regulated in a related law, so any way they have to work even if some are subject to karoshi- death caused by too hard excessive overwork, but they will be rewarded fully in turn.
It was already ten years ago when karoshi was raised as a social problem but for these ten years our society has been in a transit period from what is called Japan type employment to America type employment and still now is the midst of this transit period. In overall social strata in Japan remains in what it calls Japan type employment - almost unlimited dedication to the company in exchange for almost unlimited(?) reward to their employees.
For example, we used to have a minimum wage law that requires least daily wage for their employees that was around 50 dollars, but now this law was abolished. This law allowed employees to have guranty of life at its minimum limit at the same time it required utmost dedication to the companies. Of course in replace of their least guranteed wage, they were considered not being allowed to work more than one company they belonged. This law was at the same time a regulation of which company exclusively they work.
But now least wage goes to hours basis not daily basis. Companies don't have to employ thier workers in full time, obviously companies had to pay minimum wages, so naturally they wanted us to work at least 7 hours in a day fully that at the same time allowed us to earn a minimum wage.
So in sequence we are subject to work more than one company, e.g. in one company in 6 hours in other in 6 hours in another the other company in 2 hours, etc. Regulation of working hours came to be meaningless, we just work as long as we want depend on individuals. At the same time corporate responsibility over individual's pursuit of happiness and succeess came to be so ambiguous, indeed they don't have to think about 'taking care of ' their employees to their retirement instead, we -employees don't have to show our 'loyalty' to our employer. Our responsibility limits in 6 hours so their responsibility never exceeds within our limited working hours.

General Temperament of Writers

General temperament of a writer forms a whirlpool, mealstrom at the spot where he is, but the main stream in society is somewhere aside from him. People from the rest of him form a part of a mainstream in a society, so their tendency is as close as a straight, slightly curved.
Only the writer's temperament forms a circle not only a circle, double circles, triple circles, a whirlpool, a maelstrom. People don't understand him. Inevitably the writers tend to be kicked out from the mainstream of the society.
Many writers who tend to be kicked out of the society's mainstream, later formed a circle no one complains about their general temperament - /.

Behemoth from the Past

Sometimes I've gotta visitor from the past. She knocked at the door in front of my mind, but I don't let her come in, I wouldn't and I won't let her come in. I cannot allow her to let me in. Simply it is similar to that I cannot return to my high school days any more.
I spent with her the very high teens for four full years, I will be waiting for a reply from her. That's never likely to occur. Even if I let her know, she won't reply to me. She would be keeping on the third person -onlooker to us. Forever.
Therefore my trek continues. I shall return from the journey in the past.
I was too exhausted to see Eri - my love in the last Friday. I shall see her definetely on Friday night this week in order not to grow the behemoth of my past too.

Swinging between Illusion and Reality

In perception -My reality is not very bad, but still I like dreaming illusion -the moment we see once again. I am sure we see sometime in future, but I will return to the reality now I have. Probably we might feel nostalgia, but that keeps on what as it is. To tell the truth, nobody knows what will become of when we see once again. Anticipation impossible.

The Famous Last Word

'Don't follow me.'
This word is believed to be the last word uttered by her to me.
I said 'believed to' I tell you whatabouts there. -sometime after I went back from America, it was at age 30 when I visited her house -she was supposed to be 28 years old but she was not there. Instead her mother replied, ' she got married to and has gotta baby, now she's working in Tokyo.'
To make a long conversation done between her mother and me short, final word said to me was 'Don't follow me'.
Deepest word and thorn to me indeed. Both of us realised both we love each other.
I am sure I will face her sometime, as her 'to-be-a-woman' period is close to cease, around two or three years will be the high time to see her, at least I ought to attempt to see her.
But this time I intend to say -in order not to be told 'Don't follow me', I will intend to say, 'Follow me'.

Wimbledon Finals

By the way I was watching Wimbledon singles final -I was extremely tired as was always the same as regular Sunday night - I ususally keep on working from Saturday noon through Sanday 19 p.m. , so when I finished working I am already completely exhausted. but yesterday I had been managed to watch whatabouts of Wimbledon. Fender? Radic? though I forgot exact name of the players of the finals, the two people were the same as the game last year. And this year too, again the game was interrupted by rain. Last year it was 40 minutes long. This year it was just 15 minutes.
The interruption by rain is said to work in favour of the one who is losing, since it gives the time to think and revitalise to the about-to-be losers.
Whichever it works in favour of or against the one, one thing is certain - how to use the extra time given by heaven affects the consequence of the game after rain stops.
Interruption is not interruption to both sides. The one who made the most of the bad oppotunity really deserves to be winner. The lesson of Wimbledon finals always tell us so.

Octopus

They say octopus will eat his legs or arms(?) when he lost anything to eat.
Sales is not easy, especially try to sell something to unspecified people is not easy, in one of my friend's company, he says the sales is not good. Recently they started to try to sell their products to their employees. Many people are reluctant to buy the one, some buy simply because he wants to help the sales of the products with some excuse themselves like because they are working here or something. But overall reaction is not good. Basically their attitude is the same, -if he wants to buy the one, he buy. But they don't like to be force to buy the one like an obligation or to measure their degree of loyalty. Sometimes the obligatory quantity of purchase is imposed.
Octopus eats his tentacles when he doesn't have anything and hungry, inevitably start eating his legs or arms(?).But he doesn't know yet - when he finished eating all his legs or arms(?), he himself is the one who is going to be eaten, for the first time when he is about to be eaten, he will know he has already lost all his tentacles by which effectively he can protect himself.

My Trek Continues

My trek continues till I recieve a reply from her.. Since we last met in Trecca -coffee shop at the centre of Kyoto in December 1986, to tell the truth, I went to see her in her graduation ceremony in March 1987. We crossed a conversation, but it was not that of lovers. We said Good-Bye to one another to ourselves. I went to America, she remained in Tokyo. Sad love story.
Aside from my previous statement, I feel like seeing her, now 42 years old -I am sure she still refuses to see me, or twenty years are long enough to thaw?
Even if I let her know I kept journal here, she won't reply to me. -All are highly hypothetical, never likely to take place, now it's time to take a nap.
What I lost was too large, what I earned was too little, at least so far.
I still love her.

Establishment of Self

That means if I were not suffered from measles at age 3, the awakening of self would have delayed sometime later. To have disease is always some kind of setback in our life, whilst we have disease inevitably, we are sure to have measles, rubella, mumps in some point of time in our life, I have no memory of being suffered from rubella, mumps. Maybe they must have been much much lighter than the first experience of measles.
The second big disease I suffered was total nerve breakdown. I was unable to go to school for three months. In consequence I had to repeat my first grade in my high school. But this disease was basically nothing. I mean nothing physical. Thanks to taking a three-months break, I was fully prepare for writing a couple of theses, proses, etc. It was one of the greatest occasion I ever had. Thanks to full leave from our regular work, I have never had once again the similar disease any more. Recovery done fully.
The third disease I had was pneumonia at age 28. I was working as a teacher at that time and I was somehow forced to breath air with dust of chalk, that caused eventually pneumonia. After one month of temporal retire from the job, I fully recovered. I am not sure what I could get from this suffering, ...importance of health, maybe.
The forth one was appendicitis, at age 34. Looking back on the disease I had, first one-measles helped me forming a certain self at age 3 and the second one - helped me forming a conventional self with an exteremely solid alter ego -other self, at age 16, I acqiured what is called the established self, since then my self never changes.

The Essense of Music

I often listen to Chopin's - ballad, scherzo, sonata, nocturn, etude, ...I have many players' CD for one song, so that I can compare to each other which one is better at playing, thinking whose play is more suitable to the mood of original song.
Some are very well performed but otherrs not. But basically it is difficult to play Chopin's, and I noticed some even very well performed virtuoso would never be able to play the mood of original song Chopin composed.
Real music lies in his mind. He tried to express it by using notes and other signs. Performer tried to express it by playing the tune of piano, so real music lies deeper and deeper than what we now would be able to listen to through an instrument.
When we listen to the music we have to try to feel music hidden behind the tune of music expression performed by players, even greatest virtuoso would never be able to express. Therefore it is called the great music. The great music is not as easy as to be performed by even greatest virtuoso.
In the case of Chopins' especially, please keep it in your mind. We have to hear the 'silence' of music. We always listen to 'the' music, but we can only feel 'music' in our mind.

Measles

Mishima used to say in his 'confession of mask' that he has memory in time of his birth. he was a very strange guy, so it might be the case.
But for ordinary people, the first memory in our life traced back to around three years old I guess, in my case too, my first certain memory starts at three when I was abruptly struck down by measles, at that time I was beside myself playing with a boy in neighbourhood.
I clearly remember I was abruptly interrupted by the disease - I had to sleep in bed for three consecutive days.
Till I was struck by this disease, it seems I was in a state I couldn't define me from him, in my memory he was part of me, then disease preventd me from getting in touch with him for sometime. The big chasm in my life made me start my first memory. Thanks to that at that time I managed to realise I am not part of him, I am different from him. -This experience might be called the first awakening of self.
When I had to move our house at age 5, I remember crying over the painting left on the door of bathroom, I clearly remember what I drew, I can even drow what I drew now, but it's been already 39 years not to drow it again what I drew since I left my painting in our house.
That painting was my first belonging that had to be let go of, when we had to let go of something ordinary, usual, normal to my life, those turned out to be the most precious valuable in my life.
My neighbourhood, my painting forever!

The Origin of Private Ownership of Land

In 710, first Imperial court was established in what is now Kyoto, at that time this land was covered with lots of grasses and no proper creek to water the rice field.
Then the court pondered how their subjects are eager to cultivate their land, then government issue in 723. Now you can own your cultivated land for three generations -you, your child, your grandson.
Some started working very earnestly, because their child, grandson can own the land they cultivated. But still large majority seemed not eager to work hard enough to culivate their land, because sooner or later their cultivated land is going to the court's hands, not remained to be theirs.
Court started pondering again, -how to promote their subjects to work hard hard enough to crop from their rice field.
Then in 743, this time the court decree, you can own your cultivated land for good.
For good? People started working very diligently, since the government guaranteed the perpetual land ownership.
Who owned the land varies in ages, but since then private ownership of land has been guaranteed always. -Having declared that so, anyone couldn't keep on holding their acquired land forever. Government admitted the perpetual private ownership, but it was hard to have kept on holding the right to own the land they acquired. But it doesn't matter - people just worked very hard. For them perpetual ownership was an enough reason to be incentive to work.
The origin of private ownership of land was indeed people's 'greed'.

Eminent Domain

Eminent domain is everywhere. Here in my city, especially roads, many private houses are forced to relocate somewhere. Or similor to Kelo v. New England, many private houses have been relocating somewhere in the name of redevelopment in front of station.
We all are in favour of general idea of construction of roads, and redevelopment of surrounding area of the station, but if my house were an objective of eminent domain, what would I feel?
37 years ago, to be an object of eminent domain was an object of our envy, since all those concerned were compensated unbelievably excellent alternatives- all were paid our taxes, they got two or three times more luxurious houses.
But now many households have their house, though it's much smaller than American standard. Were I to be victimised for the sake of what is called 'majority', might I be opposed to such an apparent infringement to private property right?
If they were compensated as what it used to take place here -compensated overwhelmingly in much larger alternatives, no one would complain about authority's decision.

Who Owns the Land?

No one claims he owns the land of Mars. From the land ownership in Mars no wealth generates, not profittable. Indeed land ownership doesn't mean much if it has nothing to do with producing wealth. Alaska was purchased from Russian in relatively little money because the land was thought to be less productive, only later after it turned out to produce crude oil, the value went to astronomically high.
Although a land was claimed to be owned by someone, unless produced anything, it is as good as waste, thus waste land has scarece value.
A poor father told his sons at his death, 'I hid a treasure box somewhere in this vast land now we see, unfortunately I forgot the site, my sons dig and find' then he died.
His sons kept on digging every nook and crany day and night, year by year, but they were unable to find the treasure box.
Years later the land they dug was so cultivated that it could produce lots of crops, that enabled them to have enough wealth eventually. Then they realised real wealth was their labour.
The land that generates fewer wealth is not worthy to someone who just owns the land. The land ownership has to be measured by its degree of public utility. Here 'public' means to be beneficial to the general 'public' as many as possible. If it were not used profittably well, someone's ownership has to be replaced by another who can come up with more wealth, it doesn't matter whether it's public or not.
Who owns the land? Its ownership is to leave to those who make the most of the land.
-The inserted anecdote is not my invention, I read somewhere in the past.

The Sea At Night

The sea at night I can't sleep is like bossoms of Amelie
-Authur Rimbaud
For these a couple of days, we had days and nights as hot as a tropical area. - 85F or 30 degree celcius. I didn't like to get home as usual so I went to see the beach to have my brain cool down.
Last night I had three operation front, of course it was not the first time but, recently no, so I just did my best to respond. Many people disagree with my idea, or in part some disagree.
The sea at night, ...beaches are where distincts chaos and order, we are from chaos(sea) to order(land). When first fish started walking on the beach, many other fish must have felt some are acting very strange.
We humans sometimes visit a beach to seek for a compassion first fish must have felt from the derrision of other fish.
I hope this is 'not' a fish story.

What is Public, What is Not?

In order to be 'public', endorsement by established power is needed. In political power, it has long been considered the Imperial power as the absolute therefore it is the only 'public' throughout overall history, except from 1215 - 1868, during that period power seizure of shognate from the warrior class kept on.
From those 650 years, a kind of double power structure over ordinary people existed. Both Imperial family and shognate family are regarded as 'public'.
In the age the revenue of many multinational corporations are well comparable to those of relatively small state, besides their range of activities is well over beyond the very natioal border, interest. It is not exaggarating to say they are representing not only narrow national interest but interest of the people around the world - therefore they are 'public'. In the next decades of the 21st century they are claiming to be 'public' corporation.

On Property

Among many Morosoph's insightful comments, he often shows us reference to his original JE.This is one of them and the other is this.

His 'Reply to The Angry Economist' is written last year, I haven't read it yet though, I read his 'Property is a Positive Right' some month ago. Because it was already archived at the time I first read, I just left it without having an oppotunity to make a comment, in this occasion, I want to make through analysis on his very interesting JE. (As to his 'Reply to The Angry Economist' later I will do.)

Property is a Positive Right 2005.03.12 20:55 What do I mean when I say "property is a positive right"?I do not mean that "property is a positively a right", although property is an important part of the concept of freedom, rather I mean property is a right in the same way that health care is a right, as opposed to say the right to bear arms.

Here three different rights and their nature is talked about. The property right, right to be covered by a health care, the right to bear arms. And he interestingly shows the property right is similar in nature to the right to have access to the health care, but as opposed to the right to bear arms. In order to be valid, the property right has to be claimed by someone who might be eligible to have this right, in other words, unless the right being claimed, this would be ruled out to be a proper right. Property right is not an inherent right as basic human rights. So we need some eligibility to claim to have the proper right as being property right. For example, for those who invented something, they are eligible to claim property right only derived from something. For those who have been paying premium to health care, they are eligible to claim health insurance. In the case of annuity, tax reduction too. the property right is similar to all these rights.

On the other hands, the right to bear arms is quite different in that

A negative freedom is where others refrain from harming you, in particular the state. An example is freedom from false imprisonment.

The right to bear arms is regarded as to protect from a negative freedom, therefore is regarded as negative right. Unnecessary, but if it were not for the right to bear arms, even a negative freedom is unable to be protected and guaranteed.

A positive freedom is one where one is guaranteed something by an outside entity, usually the state. An example of this is freedom from poverty.

Thus property right appears to be positive. For

Property certainly appears at first to be a negative right because it appears to be very natural, especially to those that are used to it. It is indeed likely that civilisation would be impossible without it. However, property is not nearly as simple as being a simple, universal right.

Exactly. Property right is not an inherent one but a social one. We have to claim first, then property right come up with itself as a positive right, later it will become the criteria of social position in the inevitable natural sequence.

Coase's Theorem lies at the root of why land is property, and air is not, for example. The key here is the concept of transaction cost.

The keys here also are 'public utility'. I used to ponder about why coasts are not eligible to be claimed as private property as land ownership. Different law is applicable in sea and land, coasts are where sea and land are adjacent, so if someone owns coasts, it is harmful to the state entity, in other words, he is challenging against state entity automatically when he owns coasts, so state law prohibits anyone from having ownership on the rim of sea and land, I mean coasts.

There is a defence of property as natural in the theory of natural law,

I.e. property right as inherent, which is rather against the natural law.

but proponents of natural law are far more subtle than simply proposing property rights as absolute; rather such a defence is about the natural equilibrium of common law over time.

Therefore more dangerous.

Those who would hold property to be a negative right would have to lean on natural law theory, implicitly defining property to be a natural extension of the owner.

Dangerous. If property right is claimed to be inherent, it extends to the theory that the right was given to me so it is unquestionable, which leads to the consolidation of the class.

The trouble with such a theory is that it isn't nearly as strong as the proponents would wish it to be.

Given the problem with defining what property is, and the implicit definition required of property being an extension of oneself, I posit that this kind of reasoning is post-rationalisation used by those who want a minimal government, and divide the concept of rights conveniently into positive and negative rights for the purpose of achieving the kind of government that they wish. This is an entirely reasonable thing to do: seeking consistency by searching for underlying principles is what makes a course of action moral rather than merely arbitrary.

However, property is awkward, and ever-shifting. The evolution of patent law and copyright show this to be precisely the case

In the wake of intellectual law, how large we admid someone who invented something claiming the property right on their owns remains to be arguable furthermore.

and it appears that a better thesis than that of natural law, or concerns of efficiency concerning what is and isn't considered to be property is simply that

the powerful get their way.

Because property right is not inherent but social. Basically intellectual property has to be admitted as a property right of someone who invented first, but because intellectual matters are unseen and easily transmissable through once verbalised, it is indeed ambiguous.

Luckily, however, the multitude of firms in existence means that power is to some extent decentralised, but property certainly appears to exist with the blessing of the state, and this would still be the case even if property law enforcement were in some way more 'just' (this term will mean different things to different readers).

In short, property is a positive right.

Yes, indeed.

Morosoph wrote on his 'Property is a Positive Right' that

Coase's Theorem lies at the root of why land is property, and air is not, for example. The key here is the concept of transaction cost.

We cannot claim property right on things which show high publicity, so coast line can be used as a national border. Of course as well as parks or roads, coasts can be used more publicly than other simple land. In the case of coasts utilised as port, too. Port is used as highly public facilities. How about factories built adjacent to the sea? They occupied the area adjacent to the sea. Answer. They are usually engaged in highly public industries, of course they are privately owned, but rather collectively owned by companies which represent the collective benefit of shareholders.

Beaches are usually used similar to the parks, so we cannot claim property right on the beaches, too.

Then his comment,

Property . . . is not so simple. See my journal [slashdot.org].In short, property is a positive right: reinforced exclusivity.

Yes, indeed so.

I agree that Anachro-Capitalists tend to lean upon natural law, but natural law doesn't tell you what one is, but rather (should it be a valid mode of analysis), what it should be.

The point a little bit difficult to understand. We know natural law merely admits someone has a right to claim property right on the objectives, but in order to make them generate the property right, someone has to claim for it, Unless doing so someone's property right remains to be silent. When he said natural law tells you what it should be, I think he is stating the same thing. Not sure though...

Ronald Coase wrote about this; brief analysis: property exists where the investment gains outweigh the costs of exclusivity (the thing in question cannot be readily put to its best use).

Ronald Coase wrote about this; brief analysis: property exists where the investment gains outweigh the costs of exclusivity (the thing in question cannot be readily put to its best use).

He explains what phenomenon property is like. Where the costs of exclusivity outweighs the investment gains, he would suggest someone who owns property right might let go of his right. I would rather suggest emphasising the role of who claims the right to own property. Since propety right is not something taken for granted in nature law, someone has to declare he has the property right. Property 'exists' in nature from the beginning, but that does not regulate who owns the right. Only later those who claim the right, the right to own property 'appears' 'generates' itself. The property right might be 'existing', but sleeping till being called by someone who 'claims'.

State and Corporation

Through modernisation a state appeared to be the only absolute power in the 19th century, and kept on being called what is 'public'. Multinational corporations, on the other hands appeared to be super powers in the late 20th century, but still remained to be 'private'. Recent scotus ruling on Kelo affairs might enable multinational corporations to claim public status what only a state used to exercise.

Private Property and Changing Notion of Publicity

Nowadays many facilities are owned by private sectors -not owned by government, local government, etc. so we cannot measure only from the viewpoint who owns the facilities but how those work on our daily life. For example many railways are private ownership, but their function is very very public. When someone's private property -for example land needed to be used or sacrificed for the benifit of public facilities happened to be owned by private one, those who own their property cannot oppose to thier property's being confiscated simply because those facilities happened to be owned by private. If it is highly public, those facilities are liable to be regarded as public regardless of their real ownership.
At the midst of capitalism, the age fewer and fewer what government actually own, the recent court ruling is along with the flow of our times.

Memoire

In my high teens I was unable to talk to any woman, especially very pretty one. It was just out of the question. I was extremely shy.
In my twenties, I'd never gotten out of the library. Thanks to that I was unable to have any physical contact with a woman, a woman kept on being an objective of admiration, respect, kept on being an idol in my mind. At the age of 30, I didn't know yet a woman.
At age 30, abruptly one pretty woman came into my life. I fell in love with her and married. One year and three months later we divorced, but throughout my thirties, I never fail to have a girlfriend at any time. I was always faithful to my love ...till five years ago slightly before in the wake of my forties.
In my forties, I never fail to have two or three relationship at the same time. We forties take for granted that we have as many relationships as possible as far as money and time permit.
In my low teens I never fail to have cheerful conversations with a pretty girl every day. Sometimes I fell in love with that pretty girl. Pretty girls are at the same time smart girls. We talked a lot sometimes with frivolous physical contacts. Only later in my life I noticed they were the first precious sexual experiences with a woman. Touch, watch, slapped...
I am almost the middle of my forties. Time flies.

19c-20c-21c

As you noticed, in my low teens I started thinking about what is good and what is bad by representing personified God and personified Satan respectively. In the very late 19 century, in the wake of the 20 century, the age of human domination over almost all values, Nietzsche was also struggling to reevaluate all values in their past established mainly in morality of Christianity. There God represented Good and Satan represented Bad. His book on morality of humanity 'Beyond Good and Evil' is not easy to understand, but we shed light on it from the perspective the age all values are determined by humans, the book is easier to understand.
But now the age is 21 century, the age many values are determined by computers, the advent of real God!

Reincarnation of Senses

preface
I have already permitted to talk about the closest thing to being ( existence ) of Self. I keep on being a human so I can say nothing to God and Satan, but I challenge anything to humans. Whether Satan is glad or not, whether God is glad or not, I don't care.
Is there? No, there isn't. I am looking at myself through eyes now, so I can believe in me. Oh, please, the impossibility of my mind that calls itself the mind of Satan! Whenever it goes your difinition would not change.____Whatever happens endeavour, endeavour, fight against Satan, never have a prayer!
Now, I can write anything. ' My friend beside me' I am ready.

Phone Call From Myself

Before I go to sleep I usually put my cellphone beside the pillow so that I can pick any phone call during the night. Tonight too, I tried to put my cellphone but only to fail. My cellphone is somewhere.
I have a fix phone in my house. I never use it, but only at the time I lost where my cellphone is I use it. As was always the same, I rung my fix phone then somewhere my cellphone started ringing, the melody is gymnopedie, I was able to find my cellphone then put it beside the pillow. I went to sleep.
Next day, I found the record of received phone call that is not picked by me around 0:39 a.m. I never know the number I received, which was 050... we never know such a strange number that starts from 050, our cellphone starts 090, 080, our fix phone starts 03,06, etc. but what is that all about?
It was a net phone from my fix phone. Because I never use the one, I've never seen it.
I wondered who calls me such a late at night, but it just turned out to be a phone call from myself. Honestly speaking, I was about to call back the number with a bit of expectation from a girl who happenned to love me at first sight somewhere sometime. Thank you for the precious palpitation that anyone is unable to give me.

Love At First Site

One week ago I was in an office in 3:40 a.m., a young girl who are working in an amusement facility next to my office ran into my office and told me that she lost a parking ticket, so she couldn't get her car out of the parking lot. Both of us are working in a different office but since our offices are next to one another I just noticed she was also working very late at night. When I tried to take a nap for a while in a sofa I turned off all the light, almost the same time I noticed she turned off the lights of her office, and she left her office.
Five minutes later I noticed her knocking the door of my office. I said, 'What's wrong?' she replied nothing then left again. Two or three minutes later after again I turned off all the lights of my office, then I noticed someone tried to enter from behind my office. For the reason fire prevention law rules, our offices are connected in behind the doors.
I was really amazed to find her in the complete darkness. I was not wearing properly, but of course there is an office, I just took off a tie.
She said she was looking for a ticket that she must have dropped maybe without trying to interupt me. I issued an extra-ticket what is available for our stuff but of course she could use it.
In 3:40 a.m. no people but her and me in an office. I never expected to have such a situation before with a young girl.
Unfortunately I kept on being Jykill. The wall of reason is still very tight. The problem was I recall the moment I encounter a young girl in a complete darkness in my office at 3:40 a.m. again and again in my brain. That makes me start loving a young girl next to my office. Of course I often see her. 'Good morning.' ' Good-bye.' Her greetings echoes all night and day. - Love at first 'site'.

Men and Girls

We are supposed to have a rainy season around this time in June, but seems no rainfall is likely to be expected, as we usually have in an early summer in late July, hot days are going on.
I often go to the beach, unlike other relatively big cities like Memphis, Atlanta, Dallas, my city has relatively long beach adjacent to city centre, famous Yahoo Dome is located in what it used to be the sea, now reclaimed land, the beach is just within a walking distance from the dome, only 30-50 metres away.
Because our beach is 2-3 km long, there are some places people often visit and many premises for souveniors, hotdogs, icecreams are sold, where also ships to the isolated island can harbour. In these areas, people often visit, so for us men there is not suitable to sun-bathe. Because we have relatively longer beach, in some areas, almost no people pass, walk, run -visit. There we men took off clothes and wear bathing costume. Usually we wear loosen trunks. No galleries at all.
Then young girls. Young girls these days prefer showing off themselves under the strong sun in the beach wearing bikinis. They are very accustomed to be watched by unspecified gallaries. In the beach bathing costume is the uniform, they just enjoy sunbathing without hestation, hindurance, stinginess.
Our beach is long. There are some places often visited by many tourists, joggers, picnic-lovers where girls enjoy showing off their healthy bodies, then other places people don't come so often where men enjoy sunbathing.
I'm a man, I want to watch young girls, but I can't take off my clothing because no men are doing so and also it's embarassing. I always go to the men's reservation where no galleries at all. Thanks to that I can keep healthy today too.

A Tale of Three Kings

The name of three kings are King Zedekiah the king of Juda, King Nebchadnezzar the king of Babylon, King Cyrus the king of Persia.
Back in 589BC, Kingdom Juda was a tribute of Babylon, King Zedekiah came to be king, he was set as a figurehead of Kingdom Juda and thought to act according to the will of King Nebchadnezzar, all other kings were thought to be against the will of Nebchadnezzar and kicked out by King Nebchadnezzar.
Kingdom Juda under Babylonian rule enjoyed some prosperity in certain degree though it was a tribute of Babylon. Canaan(what is now Palestina) were thought to be important land geographically - knots of three continent, Nebchadnezzar had to help Kingdom Juda in order to defend his territory from the strong power in the east -Egypt.
Then King Nebchadnezzar helped Kingdom Juda greatly -financialil militaliry. King Zedekiah was fulfiled, fulfiled enough to think about the possibility of seeking for independence from the rule of Babylon, then he allied with Egypy and made a rebellion against the rule of Babylon. Historically speaking, in the age of Moses, once he tried to seek for a financial help from Egypt, and King Solomon took his wife from a daughter of King of Egypt. According to Bible, Jewish people used to live in Canaan before they went to Egypt and after they spent several hundred years in Egypt, after the Exodus led by Moses Jewish people started settling down again in Canaan.
King Nebchadnezzar got furious. He gathered all his troops possible and attacked Jerusalem. Jerusalem fell. King Zedekiah captured. King Nebchadnezzar captured not only him but also lots of Zedekiah's country men, craftmen, educated people then took all of them to Babylonia, that is so called Babylonian Captivity. Jewish people had to spend many years till king cyrus conquered Babylonia and allowed Jewish people to return to their homeland.
King Cyrus not only allowed Jewish people to return to Canaan but also allowed them to rebuild the Temple of Jerusalem, once reknowned by its splender built by King Solomon.
Throughout the reign of Persian rule, Jewish people were treated very good. See The book of Esther, Esther-Jewish was married to Persian King and her caretaker Mordecai and overall Jewish people were treated good. The times at that time was thought to be a pax-Persia, all the people regardless of their national origin, treated fairly.
It depends on individuals how to interpret history, but one thing is certain. -History repeats -changing the roles .

Journal Deletion and the Concept of Copyright

Recently we had a couple of slashdotters who deleted all of his JEs. We do not usually expect them-the hosts of JEs to delete their journals, if I anticipated them to do so, first of all I would decide to refrain from posting my comments, but nobody expects who and when this act will take place in the first place. So I post a comment with hoping their good will- not to delete their journals, but just in case they delete I make it a rule to take a copy in my site, etc. In the case of journal deletion by someone, because we have a copyright of what we wrote in someone's JEs, then so what?
Long ago, I used to send a piece of writings to the publisher, influential people. Of course I took copies of them and kept. When I noticed my writings are thrown away by publishers, I sent the same stuff to another publishers.
In the age of Internet, we tend to believe not only our own JEs but also other people's JEs somehow taken for granted that everything keeps on being as they are. The comments posted in someone's JEs are like pieces of paper I sent to the publisher, as a single body, the possession of our comments belong to the host of JEs that we posted. They can do whatever they want as to their JEs along with other people's comments. This is important. Remember they can delete all their JEs along with other people's comments who contributed to their JEs, but they cannot claim their comments they contributed to other people's JEs should delete to the host they posted. Their comments exist in other people's JEs as a single body just as if those who sent their writings to the publishers cannot claim them to delete their writings. We own a copyright of our writings, not a piece of paper/ comments that we sent/posted. It is worth while to bear it in our mind.
It is still less than ten years since the birth of blogging journal system, we sometimes feel unwell when we read our past writings, the more times go by, the more people who might be caught by such feeling might try to erase all their past through this practice. Unfortunately nothing prevent them from doing this. All depend on their decision.
But I hope...if you don't keep on writing your JEs any more, just leave them for the record. This is not your journal, it is a 'Journal of a person who happened to be nicknamed by you'.

Carolyne

1991. Summer. I was in USA. I was on the way from east coast to the west by using go America greyhound pass. It was not the first time to cross from coast to coast, the first time I did was in 1986, because it was just a succession of new findings in the USA, I tried to do the same thing again in a different route.
When I was in Tennessee, a young white girl got on the bus. At that time for lots of Hispanic, native American, Black people, Asian, etc. so-called non-white, it's common to use greyhound for the means to travel long distance. But it was still very rare for young white girls to use a greyhound.
During that journey, I was not particulary fond of talking to somebody. That said, of course I had not decided not to talk to anybody. I was just not interested in talking to somebody. Any way...as a matter of natural sequence, I got curious to her and at last when we got together at the occasion of taking a rest time outside the bus, I talked to her.
We didn't talk a lot, just she used to be a student at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and I said I used to be the student at the University of **, too with smiling and talked something not so serious things two or three times especially in a occasion when the bus stop and took a rest for a while. She sometimes wear glasses, sometimes took a glance at me with a mysterious smile, any way we spend two or three night and day under the same roof, it's not a good idea to be unfriendly each other. In fact we are the same crew.
Many use this bus from town to anothewr town but it was still rare like for us to use the bus from Tennessee to Los Angeles, in my case I was on the way from Boston to Northern Canada via Los Angeles, though my case rather belongs to exceptions, her case must be one of unusual cases. During whole days long in our journey, she was keeping a journal in a notebook in handwriting. It impressed me much. I remember I felt I was unable to write a journal in English at that time though back in my home country I was teaching English 7 hours a day. Still my English was unable to catch up with the level ordinary American people can come up with. Still I had to spend 5 more years to be able to write something valuable in English. Any way the time I saw her writing a journal in her notebook in the bus, I made up my mind to be a great universal writer some day in the near future.
Our journey abruptly ended when she got off the bus in Los Angeles with just saying good-bye. Ghhuaaa. I just forgot to ask her name. We are in a greyhound station in Los Angeles, she was alone when I came closer to her, her boy-friend appeared from behind the lobby. No place to escape. I made up my mind to come close to her and ask her name. He yielded to me the last occasion in kind manner. I just asked 'What is your name?' 'Carolyne' That's what I wanted to know, without her name no memory could be remain in my mind, or it's just hard to keep on holding our 'wonderful days' of our trip. She was talking to me something unvaluable, it was OK. I was able to keep our memory with her name. She also asked me my name and I gave her, then our last conversation brought an end.
I was waiting to the next bus bound for San Francisco, while doing so around thirty minutes I was strolling there.
